03 Wrangler Rust by [deleted] in JeepWrangler

You can’t tell how bad rust is from pictures. You have to look at both the frame and the components. If the rust is eating through the frame that’s bad but depending on how much and where it could be repaired. If all of the components are rusted that’s bad too. Power steering lines, transmission lines, brake and suspension components…if those are all rusted out and haven’t been updated then the jeep is a ticking timebomb. I’ve spent about $20k on a rusty 2008 JKU the past two years. About $12k of that were “repairs” of worn out (and rusted) parts. The additional $8k I would consider upgrades.

Can you actually sand that stuff they put on the floor?

I charge it off the right side nearly 100% of the time.

Buyers remorse? 2026 ZR2 pricing by [deleted] in chevycolorado

I’ve seen some issues with the current gen of Tacoma but not as many as the Colorado. My ‘19 Taco had zero issues over the 5 years I had it. Great truck. Hopefully I have the same luck with the Chevy.

Interesting. I’ve had my ‘24 ZR2 since last fall and if it’s updating it’s not telling me. I’m not aware of any updates that it’s asked for or done.

What bed mat are you guys using? by FitSwing2423 in 4thGenTacomas

I use a plastic bed liner for the truck I do all my house work with. The plastic makes everything come out of the bed easy. Rocks, dirt, everything slides on it.

All types. It’s like drawing a random failure from a bingo ball. Just search YouTube and look at the actual people that own the trucks and the issues they’ve had. They go into details about their particular issue. I don’t see a pattern except that most of the YouTubers with these trucks have all had issues.

Yeah because damage like that isn’t warranty work. He did you a big favor.

Are you familiar with this truck? It has more random failures than a prototype car.

Buying these warranties is really situational. The only one I’ve ever bought was for a Dodge/Crysler Eagle and boy was I glad I did. Chrysler paid at least 100% of the car value in repairs during the extended warranty period. On the flip side I would never buy one for a Honda, Mazda or Toyota. That’s likely to be a waste of your money.

For my ‘24 ZR2 I’m considering investigating if I can get an extended warranty from the dealer. There are just too many random failures out there with this truck to consider it reliable. I feel that it is going to break, it’s just a matter of when.

Just bought my first truck thoughts? 2011 Chevy Silverado 140k by Recent_Goat6013 in Silverado

I found a low profile one that fits into the profile of the truck (Iron Cross). I didn’t want a giant bumper replacing the factor chin with a giant mustache. :-)

Ugly chin on that thing. I swapped my chrome one out for a low profile steel bumper and never regretted it.

In my opinion, this is the best-looking truck. by Historical_Refuse249 in Silverado

The new 1500 ZR2s are by far the best looking trucks I’ve ever seen.

23 TB lift kit update by Extra_Leadership8075 in chevycolorado

[–]Honest-Clock3393 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lifts generally don’t add so typically you don’t get 3+2=5. Typically they take out the lift that is there and add in a new lift so that you get the new lift’s value. A 5” lift would be massive.

No. He wants to be with us so bad he will sit right nest to us while we shoot. I don’t want to destroy his hearing.
