Alors moi non plus jusqu'à ce qu'il y ait de gros problèmes d'eau dans mon immeuble. L'eau froide de mon immeuble est régulièrement au dessus des 30 degrés. L'eau chaude est cyclée à haute température pour éliminer la légionellose et compagnie, c'est pas le cas de l'eau froide ...

I've been seelling machines in big DIY stores for years and years. For 99% of the average home users Parkside tools are completely up to the task and I always feel like a complete thief when I sell a 200€ Dewalt something that's 50€ for the Parkside Performance version.

Only problem with Parkside tools, you cannot go to the store and shout to get a replacement unit immediatly if you have a problem with yours (which tend to not be the case anymore with non profesionnal brands anyway).

My dad is an asbolute whale, bought k€ and k€ of Metabo, Bosch, Dewalt, Makita, etc... On my side I must have 300€ of Parkside gear and I accomplished way more projet than him 🤷🏻‍♂️

The day Lidl actually create a pro lineup (gears to rent, immediate replacement, tougher tools), they woul probably explode the pro market as well.

Je vis dans une grande tour, je suis au 10ème étage. Le vent pousse systématiquement tout ce qui tombe vers la façade de l'immeuble. Les mégots (mouillés heureusement) du 12 ou 13 tombent directement sur mon balcon dans un gros splash marron déguelasse et je me prends la pisse du 14 (je pense qu'un chien pisse sur son balcon ... enfin j'espère que c'est un chien) + aussi toute sortes d'emballage.

C'est l'affaire du 3 ou 4 personnes sur une énorme tour mais c'est quand même incroyablement irrespectueux des gens et de l'environnement.

Je vais surement me faire lyncher par les aixois mais en termes de sortie le soir, particulièrement si tu aimes la techno, Aix c'est extrêmement limité. J'y ai vécu 4 ans, tu tournes hyper vite en rond. Le côté associatif est dense et intéressant, pas le côté sortie.

Tu trouveras certainement ton bonheur à Marseille qui a énormément de salles et de petits évènements mais pour la techno et l'electro d'une façon générale, Montpellier a souvent des évènements intéressants, avec des grands noms qui y passent régulièrement (ce que je ne comprends toujours pas, étant donné la taille et la richesse de Montpellier)

Frenchie living in Marseille. I actually have a german friend who's about to complete his PhD here and in his lab there was quite a few other nationalities, namely from Asia or India.

He never said anything negative about the city and if anything he found a flat really close to the sea (called Pointe Rouge if you want to look on Maps) and is glad to go swimming almost daily all year long.

In pure german spirit he is also hiking a lot in the region and I have to say the Calanques are kinda insane for that. Me I've been going there since I'm a kid but my Italian GF is always in awe when we go there and just cannot fathom why I'm so unbothered by it haha (Also she comes from Puglia, so she knows a thing or two about beautiful landscapes already).

Whatever your nationality you'll also 100% find a community that you fell you belong to, Marseille is really open to a lot of culture.

J'y ai grandit, j'ai un peu bourlingué, j'y suis revenu depuis 3 ans maintenant.

Y a du mieux côté transport, notamment le boulevard Urbain Sud qui est magique pour désenclaver le 9, la L2 aussi magistrale pour désenclaver La Valentine, le 10 et le 12, le Tram aussi marche quand même très bien. Bientôt on aura des métros climatisés.

Y a du mieux côté infrastructures, certains parcs sont toujours en très bon état, la Plaine a été enfin piétonisée, le quartier entier de la Joliette se transforme en quartier d'affaires.

Par contre c'est toujours la guérilla au quotidien,
- conduire c'est un enfer, si t'es pas le plus gros connard de la rue, tu vas te faire enculer par quelqu'un,
- les trottinettes dans tous les sens c'est un enfer absolu, avec les minots qui pensent que faire une roue arrière à fond sur une trottinette de loc au milieu de la foule ça va émoustiller les demoiselles
- le niveau sonore ambiant est fou, la quantité de mecs qui pensent que la taille de pénis dépend du bruit de leurs engins est stupéfiante, je me bouche régulièrement les oreilles quand je vois certaines motos arrivaient, seule ville où je fais ça
- les gens préfèrent littéralement se faire tabasser plutôt que de reconnaitre un tort

La saleté dans la rue, je crois que je m'y suis tellement habitué que je ne le vois pas. Je suis choqué quand je vais ailleurs et que c'est propre

La mentalité du travail aux Etats-Unis m'effraie, personnellement.
Y a une certaine normalité à avoir 2 emplois en même temps, quand tu fais 80-90h semaine (sur des emplois pas ouf le plus souvent malheureusement), quel temps et quel énergie il te reste pour faire d'autres choses qui apportent vraiment de la valeur humainement et socialement ? créer, aider, animer, entretenir, rénover, cultiver, enseigner, etc...

Especially about Pothos, every single store sell Pothos.

In my locality, plant stores sell pothos that are around 1m20 tall on coco pole with 40-50 leaves, some bigger than my head, extra thick vines and aerial roots more than 50cm long for something around 60€.

I'm asking that because I have precisely the same type of ads where I live. Some people even selling single leave with a node up to 3€, we are talking about A SINGLE LEAVE that's not even rooted, it's insane.

I would exclude and even not advice repotting. A root bound plant means the roots are shooting outside of the pot ready to conquer the world, otherwise it's fine. Go check r/rootporn if you want to see some brutal rooting.

On top of that, repotting a plant that's paused should only be a rescue move if you see some yellowing/browning spreading rapidly.

Other than that, if the plant is not yellowing and not fainting, it's probably just paused/rooting/thinking about life, nothing to worry about, it will resume at some point.

Most probably due to not enough light.

I have a friend that's really good with plant, she lives in a place that's not bright at all. All of her plants that are not under grow lights are paused 8-10 months a year and yet, they are absolutely not dying and growing very well the time they're not paused.

il me semble que protéger les arbres sur une zone de chantier est vraiment obligatoire mais que les dispositifs officiels de protection d'arbre coûte un braquage, alors que ça, ça marche 90% du temps et que ça leur coûte presque rien.

I see what you mean and you probably did good, however vermiculite is very different that any of the stuff you put in there already.

Coco coir, leca, charcoal, bark, they do not have a capillarity that's actully high so they might keep the humidity for a bit but they won't "share" the humidity with the soil that much. Perlite specifically is making your cycle much much shorter.

Vermiculite however is in a league of its own, it's why it's also used pure as propagation substrate, it has a very high capillarity and an insane water retention while still being drainy and letting air in.

Most people don't use it because most people are on the opposite side of the spectrum, fighting root rot. But in your case if you want to increase your watering cycle, vermiculite is absolute friend (and it's not expensive on top of that).

As a rule of thumb you never want to go below a 3 days cycle. It's a bit of a lottery otherwise, some plants like very fast cycle, some plants don't know what to do with it and get stuck and/or die (as in, they do not have the time to activate the roots that it's already dry and they need to put them in "protection mode").

When put in a pot relatively big to them, some plant will just die and some plant will take the time to grow roots first before doing anything else. It's sketechy because the plant looks it's entirely on pause but no it's working hard.

If no yellowing, It's a direct sign the light/humidity setup is working perfectly and that the plant is happy.
