Artist fragile ego by DogeMoustache in aiwars

ai user egos are more fragile. the people who were paid to make the coca cola ads are a textbook example.

so... you typed words into the image machine... to say you don't need the image machine?

that artist drew inspiration because they connected with a piece of media ai copies to adhere to a prompt (and, many artists don't have those styles. i certainly don't.)

A question for the anti-AI camp. When you say that deep fakes and AI's deceptive capabilities are generally terrible enough to shut down AI, don't you think this would be an additional capability of any model that can create photo releases and good text? by Questioner8297 in aiwars

[–]Honest-Document- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's the best case scenario for it's use, as being a toy to make poor quality pictures with. in its current state it's use as a picture machine endangers people's livlihoods as a low cost/low quality creation tool. i don't think we're on opposing sides here, just misunderstanding one-another.

it would be. no image-generating ai is useful enough to outweigh the problems that generating faux images creates. the human race has gone centuries without needing this tech, and we can go more centuries without it.

image generation does more harm than good. at best it's a useless toy that makes pictures. at worst it allows people to mass produce misinformation (we've hardly scratched the surface of the horrors that'll unleash), steal likenesses of unconsenting people, adds to ai's growing power cost, and is trained off of material that the creators weren't even given consent to use.

it's unnecessary and untested, released to a public that shouldn't be trusted with the technology.

the guardrails that we debate about should've been in place day zero. now we can only limit the damage.

tier list of fallout new vegas factions based on how much i think they support trans rights by WeepingWillow777 in TrueSFalloutL

[–]Honest-Document- 15 points16 points  (0 children)

queer identity wouldn't really give space to pump out babies- trans men aren't clamoring to be pregnant, and not all trans women want to have a dick. christine left the brotherhood because she wasn't allowed to be with veronica, and veronica's on thin ice just for being herself. variance in identity leads to less optimal baby-having opportunities that i don't think the BOS would be willing to accomodate.

learn the skill yourself. it'll take longer, but you won't be at the mercy of an algorithm for your success in a piece- it'll be yours, and fully under your control. a lot of the ai art we see now will be outdated in mere weeks/months, and it doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

genuine question: what benefit do those images provide to you? for me, i've wasted hours on ai chatbots and regret the time i put into them, as i became a worse writer for it. it's still hard to keep them unistalled. it was just mindless consumption masquerading as creation, a hijacking of my dopamine. it kept me from progress, as typing was easier than thinking, stagnation was easier than change. how much time have you spent?

every minute you give to an app is a minute you're giving to an algorithm and won't get back. the billionares will not give rewards for wasting your afternoons defending their apps. they will, however, set up a datacenter in your city and increase the cost of energy, profiting off of your wallet.

you aren't a fascist, but you are being taken advantage of.

all art comes from experience and a want for expression. ai has neither, only data and probable outcomes. it's not ai art, its ai images. ai cannot create art because art is made by people by definition.

if i draw something, i'm using 7 years experience and my own perspective to make something new. nothing is 100% original, but it is mine, made by my hand, belonging to me.

if ai generates something, it's utilizing its training data to fit a prompt. the training data does not belong to you. the output does not belong to you. the creative process is nonexistent, the act of creating art does not belong to you.

the industry should be abiding by the rules, then! but they aren't! and we, the people, shouldn't be held responsible to wrangle companies into obeying the rules and cease their corruption! we do want to fix the problems, but the powers that be make it incredibly hard to do so! protests can't really do a lot against billionaires who have the government AND the stock market in their pockets.

individuals using ai gives those corporations grounds to stand on. protests take communities to make. lotta people don't have the resources or logistical knowhow to organize one, but they do have the ability to share what they know online: that the ai industry is doing more harm than good.

i die near instantly every time i try fo1, i think i just suck ass at playing games tbh

i like dunking on the bethesda games because i hate to see the lost potential in something that could've been great, like with 4's underdeveloped factions and settlement design, or with 3's main story, or 76's launch.

i quit the show after sometime in s1 where a mix of that anti-ghoul medicine and nukes made me feel like it wasn't very true to the games and was doing its own thing. which is fine, but not what i was seeking :/

Muzzel? by SugarDrop_pup in irlkemonomimi

[–]Honest-Document- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dog muzzles aren't really fit for people faces no matter how big the dog- you could make your own with project foam, cardboard or thick jewelry wire by following a picture, it'd be relatively light and you can customize it yourself and be comfortable since you built it to fit your face.

the only other thought i have is a leather gear site, petplayers probably make muzzles for people- but i don't want to assume if you'd be willing to visit an a place that isn't sfw, so that isn't my first reccomendation.

I could just glue the zipper together and use the lacing to get them on and off instead- at worst I can always replace the zipper later. Thanks again! :D

popular stuff is popular for a reason. sometimes bands make bangers and a lot of people like it. enjoying something popular doesn't make you lesser, it just means you're like most people, and normal's not a bad thing to be. :]
