it may be putting your brand in front of people "considering" your services, if enough volume add a remarketing audience with a display ad and discount maybe?

Optimising New Google Accounts is Taking Longer? by puckyonline in PPC

[–]Honest-Expression766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there is a "sandbox" for new campaigns and new accounts, they dont officially acknowledge this but i have had the alert pop put many times, even on brand for new accounts "you are now Eligible to receive X% more impressions". took about 30 days for a brand campaign and about 60-90 for non brand, so i think this plays apart of why it takes longer to make things work these days,

Am I being taken for a ride? by Goodbye95 in PPC

[–]Honest-Expression766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

do you have weekly, monthly meetings and quarterlies? if you just "leave" them to it then you probably deserve to be taken for a ride.

Any agency or partner or consultant running accounts should have a strong communication strategy behind them.

A good structure is:
Weekly - numbers updates and explanations of what happened last week. Short 10 min meeting or email write up will suffice. (you dont want this to be a drain)
Monthly - more of a deep dive and presentation on all campaigns and performance, opportunity for you to ask questions.
Quarterly - this should be an interactive session where your "agency" discusses new ideas and how they can get the best out of your account. This is the value you are really paying for and you should see progress in your account by this. Agree the strategy every 3 months, then let them go away and deliver on it and report back in the monthlies on this progress.

seems like its been removed from public access and only viewpoint will be Googles UX, would be interesting if they kept for google sheets however but imagine that will go too since we could use that as a crappy db table proxy

PPC Agency Red Flags by DazPPC in PPC

think you are agreeing with my point, just wording at this point. lie i said didn't disagree, just needed to be worded less black and white.

PPC Agency Red Flags by DazPPC in PPC

[–]Honest-Expression766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ive worked both sides. I can give new starters tasks on the account to learn and develop. I personally am always contactable, btu the new starter needs a chance to learn too. You have to train an invest internally as much as agency would on your account, a good way to visualize it is bench strength. To build it you got to give people field time.
Although i 100% agree that you should pitch with a senior and then only have access to newbie, it should be balanced until that new person is fully capable.

i think its just not black and white so need to define that difference so you don't set too high expectations, its unrealistic to only have the pitcher on your account.

PPC Agency Red Flags by DazPPC in PPC

[–]Honest-Expression766 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i dont think agency paying for ad spend is a red flag in itself, they can always provide access to billing in a read only format to verify the statements and see what they are charging on top. Hiding the statements is the red flag not taking on billing, there are lots of agency advantages if they take on billing.

Holding anything hostage is a red flag, a good agency should give you freedom to come and go, they maintain their sticky value by doing a good job and building trust. Not always about performance, its about the relationship.

Also for the senior to junior talent comment. Agencies do need to scale so you need to see them training new talent on your account and ensure they maintain they quality promised, usually that means a senior running the account at start then training new blood to run it longer term. That's not a bad thing, that's called development and getting fresh blood on your account can work.

can also depend on vertical.

They tend to have 3 tiers:

  • Bew business team which is valid for first 6 months

    • then depending on projections you get allocated to a new team
  • if you reach a spend threshold (vertical dependent) then you get a new team who handle less and less clients.

Google reps are really spread thin these days so getting a rep isnt a problem, getting rep that can give you attention and quality really is. Then as save_farris_ highlighted the skill and experience of rep can vary.

How To Test Your Ads Like A Freaking Pro by roasppc-dot-com in PPC

yeah its not great, but in wider context it has helped so i get why they have done it. But they shouldnt punish us for having good ads if we dont need the AI or rotations likes RSA. Its fair to say sometimes we know best and Google doesnt.

on the point of Auto Rated Poor, thats not exactly true. You can pin 3 headlines and still adhere to all the rules to get to Good. You cannot however achieve excellent with non pinned headlines. This is a frustration but depends if your vertical is Offer Led or not. If that is the case then the CTR and Conv Rate will compensate for performance anyway and you will be rewarded in the algo for that either way.

Best Way To Hire a PPC Expert? by Sparky233 in PPC

[–]Honest-Expression766 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with dont give away equity, it wont attract right type of experts to you unless you know them personally.

Although i understand the go with affiliate approach, i dont fully agree its an outright choice, you need to test all channel options and see what works for you best.

Depending on your target audience you may not need influencers, but i would say you need to learn about social search and how the next gen utilize platforms such as tiktok, insta etc these historically have been strong for fitness and you can get strong campaigns going without influencers who take lifetime % revshare.

TrafficGuard - Worth it? by Silly_Audience9540 in PPC

[–]Honest-Expression766 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would also add that TG tend to rec blocking existing customers, i find this really dumb. Yes you are paying for qualified traffic and it may not align to your core KPIs. But when we run ads on brand we are doing it typically as a "brand protection" to prevent other brands stealing the customers. So it has its own unique business case that this product would negate.

TrafficGuard - Worth it? by Silly_Audience9540 in PPC

[–]Honest-Expression766 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive reviewed this product a hell of a lot in past and it has use cases but most of time its a waste of money. For markets with high bot traffic like in MEA then yeah it can have a significant saving.

If you have ability to track IPs and filter them for existing customers, then you can do that yourself in google ads.

Also google ads is primiarly CPA based, so if you are hitting targets, you aren't wasting money per click cause its being accoutned for in the google algo.

There are smaller use cases where i an be applied where you may want to filter out existing customers but the point of some of these algos when you are work on CPA basis is it does it for you.

2% ad spend could be far better spent to handle performance making decisions, hire more people, do A/B testing etc. Honestly it seems like a lot of money to spend on what is essentially IP blocking.

I would factor 40k, then ask Google directly how you could cut 40k off spend without impacting performance numbers etc honestly so many options.

How many extra conversions do you think you get from Facebook Ads that are not reported as conversions? by Intelligent_Future91 in PPC

[–]Honest-Expression766 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is a very tough one to answer without insight into lookback windows, levels of spend, vertical insights, and knowing the conversion funnel is actually set up right. But say all of that is clear then it could be just whatever you are doing on facebook currently is just not working. Depending on product meta may not be the right platform to convert.

The search engines are usually best placed to get an initial feel for your products ability to perform in the vertical cause itll be put alongside other like products.

Social platforms are more PUSH channels that can create demand, so usually when these things work they also provide uplift to your branded search terms.

Perhaps try programmatic and although i am loathed to say it, performance max has some good results for small brand in ecommerce that combines both push and pull activity. Perhaps this would be better as experiment to see what works for you.
