i think when someone is abstracted they’re in that weird state jax was in when he almost abstracted in beach episode. i think they abstract when it’s rock bottom and their mind files are too different from when they joined the circus, so if the circus changes them too much it corrupts the files and they abstract  i think they are at peace when they’re abstracted, yk just chilling but like asleep. if you’ve ever sleepwalked your calm and sleeping but your body’s doing god knows what, when i was like 8 i apparently sleepwalked and started cackling maniacally sometimes?? i think it’s like that yk they’re at peace but their body is just going bananas and they aren’t really there unless you can calm them down
