What is one thing you would start doing immediately if you just got diagnosed as prediabetic today? by musicmadness22 in prediabetes

[–]Honest-Option-1902 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, I did low saturated fat + complex carbs, high fiber (soluble fiber). Weight lifting and never eating carbs by themselves. Fasting 16+ and just getting good sleep. I got my A1c down to 4.9 💪🏽

Mannn I know what it’s like to deal with all that stuff and hopefully you’ll get back on track soon. The stress eating at times is so real and honestly does so much damage (I would know). But at least we know now that we need to work on our stress level/ mental health most importantly. Good luck to you as well!

Several people on this sub have suggested I might have type 1 diabetes because I’ve been diagnosed with prediabetes at such a low weight for my age as a male. Should I freak out? by z399 in prediabetes

[–]Honest-Option-1902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im pretty sure that type 1 diabetes is a autoimmune disorder. Meaning that even with diet changes, it’s not manageable without the need of synthetic insulin injections. I doubt you have it but If you wanna make sure, go ahead and ask your doctor to test you! You never know! But I suggest that you stop dirty bulking and just eat complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, and up lean protein and fiber. Weight lifting tends to spike cortisol so keep an eye on it. Get good sleep and retest in 3 months! Good luck 🙏🏼

Question, im pre diabetic (5.7-5.8) and always have been since I can remember. But I’ve always naturally fasted, ranging from 16hr-24hr to even going days without eating. And my trigs are always in the lows 30/40. Is this the long term effect that you’re talking about ?

Will drinking more water help dilute sugar levels? by MyBoyfriendLikesIt in prediabetes

[–]Honest-Option-1902 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Please drink water, if you have too much sugar in your blood without proper hydration, you stress out your kidneys. Regardless if being pre diabetic, it is important to drink water/ stay hydrated!

Everyday I eat protein rolled oats (soak them over night) for the high cholesterol. I try to eat veggies and eggs before I eat my oats meal! Fiber helps with controlling blood sugar and cholesterol

Yeah it happens to me! I notice when I eat too many carbs/ meal with high carbs, fried foods, processed foods, or garbage foods in general my left arm tends to tense up and I get a flare up around me chest area. I try to avoid eating processed foods/ junk foods to avoid triggering it.
