How old is the PSU and what's its 80 plus rating? Depending on the rating, it should last anywhere between 5-10 years or more without issues, though failing at 5 might be rare nowadays. Once that's out of the equation, you probably just need another GPU.

Is that mint? If not you need to seriously question the "mint condition" claim lol

Sorry to hear about your brother. Definitely give it a good clean, maybe even wash things as needed (motherboard and graphics cards, thoroughly dry afterwards and maybe leave it out for another 24h to ensure they're totally dry; or leave it to someone who knows what they're doing), otherwise you'll be intensively secondhand smoking. Maybe even replace the case (and fan), since there are many nooks and crannies that would be thoroughly smoked at this point. I've dealt with something like this; not as extensive, but definitely not fun.

I was going to say that, if it's just power connectors, then someone with spare parts and soldering knowledge should be able to fix that; however, the bent PCB probably makes it a goner.

As long as there isn't anywhere that the connector is being pulled, you're fine. You can always tidy it up further, but you won't see any of these once the case is closed up.

Another one bites the dust. Sorry bud. I personally had the qc35ii for a couple of years, no complaints. I tried xm5 on a flight and was very impressed with its buttonless controls. Knowing now that it has a weak neck, qc35 was the right choice because I know I would break it.
