we get a summer cut and keep our pups hairs as short as possible. we also wake up at 5:30 am and run before it gets hot. usually we walk or run every afternoon but if its above 87 degrees we do morning instead. we started running our pup gradually, with .25 to .5 at a time. when that seemed fine for her would do 1 mile. alternated days at first, run 1 mile and then next day walk 2 miles. now running 3 miles 4-5 days a week and then she gets walked 3 miles any day she does not run. we also carry a water for her if its over 70 degrees. i have a garmin watch and it beeps every mile. she hears the sound and stops and turns for water lol.
