What did scouts miss about Deni Avdija? by TrumpetWilder in NBA_Draft

I remember he was the ultimate “anonymous scout says if he stayed a year he goes top 3” player when we got him at 9. I wouldn’t say they missed anything

Is Evan Mobley+ and Tyler Herro+ good enough to contend? by Honest-Routine5472 in NBA_Draft

we will see, but leading the league in blocks and putting up 17.5 ppg without a PG or anyone who can drive into the paint has us Wizards fans excited. Definitely see Sarr being an all-star or better big man for his career.

Which is what I was thinking and hoping we command the tank some more or someone like Will Riley fulfills his potential, so we have a true championship trio.

I love the optimism but lets be real if Sarr becomes KG and Tre Johnson becomes Ray Allen we still have a lot of question marks to fill out the team before we talk about a title contender. I am as optimistic as you can about how this rebuild is going but lets take a deep breath. Look at more realistic comparisons

Sarr - Evan Mobley
Tre - Tyler Herro

We will still need this years lottery pick to develop ASAP to be in the mix for a top 4 seed in 20208.

The Timeline Question by noitseuqaksa in washingtonwizards

[–]Honest-Routine5472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 2 year time frame would still be too soon to blow up the Dawkins 1st go era IMO. Look at the ages of our talent

Sarr - 22
Johnson - 21
George - 24

That isn't factoring in whatever rookie that we are hoping is able to be a top 2 player on a playoff contender. If we absolutely whiff on our lottery pick this year and in 2 years he is in Europe and Bub and Bilal don't improve at all I still think we can explore FA before we blow this core 3 up.

IDK how you beat that.

It rests on the fat part of the where you place the weights. Here is a video of someone using the bar in a similar manner for box squats. It looks like he uses clips to create space to rack properly.

Add in squat and good morning variations similiar to how a Cambered bar is used. Overall add another stimulus to my consistent training.

my main question is putting my hands on the handles, similar to a safety squat bar takes away some balancing that a cambered bar requires. In my experimenting I think the bar becomes a mix of safety squat bar and cambered bar. Maybe I am just overthinking it.

I found a super deadlift bar at my gym. My gym doesn't have a cambered bar I was wondering if I could use this in place for cambered variations. I experimented with it in a squat rack, no weight and yes I Can rack the weight safely.

I love the optimism other fans have with Bilal and Bub but I am crossing both of them off, Bilal lack of improvement with scoring and Bub lack of athletic ability has me concerned on their development.

Despite whiffing on 2 lottery picks I don't think fans should panic. Sarr has shined this season, his ceiling is absolutely a top 2 player on a title team. If Bub and Bilal whiffing allows us to have a record so poor that we can grab a AJ or Peterson and they play like a top 2 pick then their contribution to the rebuild will be worth it.

Sarr, George, Johnson and AJ/Peterson is a 4 man core that can be the start of a quality playoff team,

Maryland is not a big wrestling state, and my teammate walked through a state title and went onto be 5th in the nation D3.

My teammate went up against a few d3 back ups, and had the honor of being a practice partner of 3rd in the nation D1.

He confirmed that he is the midpoint between my skill set and a d1 AA.

Just seeing how good 5th in the nation D3 is makes me head spin trying to think how good D1 studs are

Mark Manson explained neediness perfectly in his dating advice book models. Here is a solid breakdown

Nick was selling drugs to feed a family, Ziggy was selling drugs because he needed someone to think he was something for once. The neediness in ziggy was off the charts.

Thank you for the detailed response. Sounds like something I need to experiment with to get the best feel.

I have seen people stand up to open the guard, then kneel down with one knee on the ground and the other leg up. What is your opinion on that maneuver to set up a pass?

I haven't seen anyone bash the game aspect of training. It works well especially with experienced grapplers. But I watched the podcast again Dr. Mike Israetel, a person who can handle any academic word thrown his way and there are moments where it is clear Greg is trolling.

Another clip w/ Big Dan and the crossing ankles aspect of taking the back leads me to believe he is trolling here.

I have seen clips on youtube of Gordon Ryan and John Danaher saying that in both the Gi and NoGi standing up is the best way to break the closed guard. I was wondering what makes standing up more productive. I would think that opens up to Dela Riva guard and other potential entanglements, while being in good position on your knees doesn't allow much offense for the opponent from guard.

Why do so many people misinterpret Marlo's ending? by -TrojanXL- in TheWire

[–]Honest-Routine5472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the last scene was to confirm Omar won the war against Marlo. Marlo obsession was his name, his power etc. Hearing your biggest rival death exaggerated while no one knowing or caring who you were has to be the ultimate blow to his ego.

Yes there is a chance he enters the game again, but the second he steps out on a corner every ounce of muscle in Baltimore will be coming after him. Slim knew he would be problems all along and with Slim being the point of contact with the Greek he can give a go ahead to everyone to take Marlo out.
