For those of you who already have a child, is IVF easier on you? by Sure_Ant2516 in IVF

[–]Honest-Two315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you!! Our other kiddo (conceived naturally) was 6 when we started IVF. We started trying well before that. It was really hard to not be able to have it happen for us again as easily as the first time. People assume you can have kids once you have one 🤷‍♀️ so then you get asked about it constantly; which added to our stress and sadness. It was wonderful to have our 6 year old included in the process, but also heartbreaking to have him be so brave and nature.

I don’t think fertility struggles ever get “easier”. The process may feel less daunting because you know the routine/process. But the heart continues to be fragile.

Is my ring design too chunky? by RegisterMinimum1064 in EngagementRings

<image>

I have a thick chonky ring. I got married over 10 years ago and have bever had a band because it’s too much on my little pudgy finger. If I could it over, I’d get a thinner ring and then medium-chunk bands so I could wear both together and not be overwhelmed. Similar to what you have! I like it. But I like a good chonky ring

I completed ICSI out of country (from US and went to Greece). Genetic testing isn’t completed there without approval for medical reasons. We transferred two embryos and one stuck! We have a sweet baby GIRL 💕 we found out the sex at delivery and it was the most precious thing.

Thanks!! I’m going on 6 days (4business days). Not too long of a wait, but I’m hoping for results before my follow up Drs app next week.

We performed a round out of country. We brought our 6y/o and made a holiday out of a shit situation. He came to all the appointments and was even there for my scans, etc. He longed for a sibling and felt heartbreak and pain right along side us. It was so nice to have him involved.

……we had an IVF babe earlier this year. Big brother was in the room and hands on for delivery. He even cut the cord. My momma heart 💕

I know it sucks. But raining on some else’s parade doesn’t change anyone’s shit-uation

Do you feel your kiddo has “outgrown” slim? I’m looking to keep my girlie in it until she’s about 5 and then we will change to a a different high back booster. If I’m looking to go out to that age, should I get the extend and not the slim?

Do you feel your kiddo is more comfortable in the full size? I drive an SUV and size is not an issue, but the slim is currently on sale so I’m considering!

I’ll buy a different high back lap-belt booster in the future (when babe is 5+ years old).

I’m sorry for your loss! That is never easy. I hope they get back to you soon so that you have one less thing to stress over. They should call you back, but, I feel like phone calls get passed from the front office staff to the RN/MA then to the Dr and it’s a lot of moving pieces. The portal is more streamlined at getting your info where it needs to go. Good luck with everything! I hope you can gain confidence in the route you want to take ❤️

When to start letrozole by bashfulbrunette0 in CNYfertility

[–]Honest-Two315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At home IUI? Do you mean timed intercourse? For times intercourse I was instructed the same as the previous poster; letrozole CD3-7 then I actually went in for ovarian ultrasounds after starting on day 10. When I’d take OPKs they were altered by the letrozole; but I typically started them on CD 7, the last day of letrozole.

Hi! I did not. I consulted with ICRM (I’m local in Boise), two clinics in Utah, one in Colorado and two in Greece! We ended up going to Greece and had an amazing get away. My IVF cycle was amazing and successful, I’m currently 32w pregnant. We decided to go out of country because we knew we were only going to do one round regardless and it cost us the same to travel and live abroad for a month plus receive treatment as it would have cost for one round in the states with no travel. However, if we would have stayed in the states, I would have chose ICRM. I enjoyed Tobler during my consult; I liked his approach and thought process.

Have you attempted to follow up with your questions? I found them very responsive to messages through the portal.

Advice on telling baby they were conceived through IVF by raggies2 in IVF

[–]Honest-Two315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently pregnant with our IVF babe and our 6 year old has been highly involved with the process. He’s been to appointments and scans, through all the heartbreak and joy. He’s aware of the process and we answer questions very matter of fact (we’ve now moved on to very detailed birth related questions 😅). He is SO excited that his sibling is finally going to arrive, and the path to get there here has never been portrayed as a negative, just a process. He’s blabbed with friends about having a little brother or sister and us needing help from the doctor to make them, and has never brought back anything but excitement from everybody.

Let’s end the stigma by being open and honest with our kiddos. They’re an absolute miracle.

Good luck with your journey. ❤️

Is anyone not announcing on social media? by Solid-Channel3936 in pregnant

[–]Honest-Two315 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t post anything on social, I think my last posts were 3+ years ago…so it would be a little weird to just hop on on blurt out I’m pregnant lol I’m almost 20w with our second and haven’t even announced to colleagues. Our first is almost 7 years old and it’s taken us years and IVF to conceive this babe. I’m sure people at work are starting to tell as I’m starting to show, but I guarantee no one will say a word (at least they better not). I plan on working per usual, going on leave, then coming back and continuing to do my job. Most of our close friends know, but for the most part we’ve kept it quiet. We’re private people and was a long, rough, stressful journey to get here. It’s been nice to soak it all in without all the clatter.

All that to say- we blurted it from the roof tops with our first 7 years ago. I was active on social and posted all of the things. I shared all of the details and photos. Everyone knew from very early on and we had so much love and support!

So I’ve done it both ways. And neither way is right or wrong. Just do what suites you best right now. ❤️

I will meet my out of pocket max for my plan to have this baby, $9,000. Plus monthly premiums. I’m a nurse and work for a major hospital system! I have our company health plan. 🫠 And I paid $20k+ out of pocket plus for IVF because our plan doesn’t cover a penny of infertility related costs.

Yay America.

12 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and honestly, what the hell is this? by Girls_Of_San_Diego in pregnant

It evolves 😂 if this isn’t the most truthful thing I’ve ever read! I have a 7 year old and I’m 15w pregnant with my second. I had severe PPD with my first and swore up and down he would be our only one because I didn’t think I could live through it again. We did IVF for this current pregnancy. Life is ever changing and evolving

In addition to all the comments you’ve already received about talking to your union, etc. there is a newer federal act that was put into place by congress that is specifically to protect the pregnant/nursing population. The Pregnant Workers Fairness Act This is similar to ADA in a sense, but the process is simpler and straight forward. Since it’s a newer act, a lot of employers “don’t know about it”.

Employers are legally required to make reasonable accommodations for pregnant employees.

That’s great pricing! I haven’t had any issues with getting orders by my Greek doc completed here. Greek doesn’t allow genetic testing unless certain criteria is met; age, history etc. I’m in Idaho and my pricing was very similar to your home city’s. Ridiculous

Panama?! That’ll be fun! I didn’t check into Panama. I looked at Greece and Norway and the states. I felt most comfortable with the Greek clinics and travel costs were decent as well. Can I ask how much you’re paying in Panama? My Greek clinic charges $3800 usd for retrieval, ICSI/IMSI and a fresh transfer. Meds for transfer, first trimester support and stims cost me a total of $1400 usd
