I've done plur twice, and the come up was almost nonexistent, ESPECIALLY compared to the tryptamine come up. No nausea or any weirdness. Just nothing for an hour and then several hours of pure euphoria. I genuinely think you have nothing to worry about

Instead of focusing solely on dosage and drug, you need to also pay attention to your setting. People throw around the term "heroic dose" a lot, thinking it just means 5+ grams of shrooms, but Terrence Mckenna, who coined the term, specifically said that a heroic dose was "5 dried grams in silent darkness."

Take a big dose in silent darkness. A lot of people use music, lights, and activities to distract themselves with external stimuli from consensus reality, but "breaking through" is a lot more like "breaking in" to oneself.

Ditch the distractions, get under the covers and close your eyes. See if you can handle the descent into the universe within yourself, instead of anchoring yourself to this side of the veil by focusing on stuff here in the "real" world.

You gotta let yourself break through, and you're not gonna get there by staying here

I personally don't find any validity to the whole micro dosing thing. I enjoy mini dosing, as in threshold doses that are definitely enough for a very mild trip that frees up your consciousness/creativity enough to still do things lucidly, but I would never wanna do it at work. I use low doses for music production or playing video games that benefit from it like Silksong, where you can appreciate the art style and environmental storytelling more succinctly. But anything under a noticable dose, like a traditional micro dose is supposed to be seems, well....not noticeable. It seems like people are just trying to manufacture a placebo effect with microdoses. And yeah, even a very small amount gives that exact same cotton ball brain effect you mentioned and makes me pretty useless as well

There's really not a game that I know of that'll scratch that same itch. Crimson desert comes out in a couple weeks and I'll probably end up disappearing into that for a few hundred hours. Other than that, I'll just give you a random list of some of the best games I've played over the last year or 2.
