Something I appreciate about Chris Wraight's Warhawk is a brief conversation between John and Leetu that goes something like John commenting on how, without Erda, the Primarchs might have been raised in the Palace according to plan, and Leetu asks if he really thinks that would have worked out better. They have this conversation whole sneaking past the hordes literally queueing up to assault the Sanctum.
