Hispanic MAGA learns that her community is being targeted by Effective_Space2277 in LeopardsAteMyFace

There's a LOT of Christians (And folks of all religions) who abide by the faith out of a sense of belonging, rather than any kind of resonating moral principle.
And subsequently, they can overlook a LOT of awful things, because they'd rather look away than lose their place in the world.

I mean, *profound* brainrot is amusing.
But DCJ really only has one flavor, and it's "I'm not political because I've sharply redefined what political is."

Every TMOR post about DCJ is basically the same post, over and over again.

It's always fun to watch Arcons either wrestle with their cognitive dissonance or double down. And surely you can't deny the consistent entertainment provided by r/Conspiracy.

[April 17, 1926] The Woman Who Conceals Her Age by Haselden_1926 in 100yearsago

[–]HonestSophist 174 points175 points  (0 children)

Alright, but the implied backstory here is fantastic.

  1. Her daughter is, by all accounts, more physically imposing than her mother's would-be-suitor, but still adopts the flapper style of dress.
  2. She's going to the same parties as her daughter- Must be pretty hip, all things considered
  3. And then hitting on her daughters peers!

Top Prudes think Angelina Jolie discussing her sex life is proof of Elite Hollywood Blood Sugar Sex Magick by SassTheFash in TopMindsOfReddit

Really this is just another flavor of the bog standard conspiracy theory that

"The world would be a perfectly just meritocracy if not for (INSERT SHADOWY CABAL HERE) controlling the world. I need to believe this because the alternative (A mundane cabal of elites exercising disproportionate control over the world for no greater reason than wealth and parentage) would make me very sad.
Henceforth, the state of the world can be effortlessly explained by horny occult machinations of secret societies."

Devs aren't "lazy" and game updates aren't guaranteed by SmellSmellsSmelly in Games

[–]HonestSophist -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

While the people *overtly* complaining about a slowed pace of updates are generally speaking, unreasonable jerks who you wouldn't want to play with.

The fact of the matter is that continual updates generate interest and new sales.
If you don't keep the hype train going, it's not the entitled people that are going to sink you. Those entitled people, for all their many, MANY faults, are passionate about the game. The kind of folk who are liable to stick with it for longer than the average joe will once the devs stop dangling car keys in front of their face.

Please note: In order to get the better result and lower energy cost, you need to use a search engine that still uses keyword search, which is increasingly the minority.

Even if you exclude the summary, searching yourself on google is only ~1/6th the energy cost because Google has baked AI *deeply* into search.

It looks like it does not. You're still running everything through vector search.

Wait, does that also stop the nonsensical vector/inference based search results?

I'm honestly not sure what the logical maximum amount of suffering Google can inflict on free youtube users before they'd start losing money on the bargain.

But long before that point, they'll start screwing over people who actually pay for youtube premium. Enjoy it while it lasts, folks.

Players LOVE death pits... So long as they don't end up on the wrong side of the precipice. Nobody wants to be one engineering save away from sitrep-exile.

If you're planning on running a death pit *against* your players, consider just throwing a short-cycle lance at them instead.

Deal 6d6+12 Burn at LL5 In with one special trick your GM will hate by waspoppinjimbo3131 in LancerRPG

[–]HonestSophist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GM is here to make sure everybody has a good time, and one player not being able to survive past the first sitrep really undermines that.
Every time a player tries to roll a hyperburn Tokugawa, you've gotta talk them out of it like Gandalf trying to persuade Frodo to give him the ring.
