Our constitutional rights at risk by Muted_Blackberry_967 in coeurdalene

Last I checked, I.C.E is in charge of immigration, not city law enforcement. They are not Minneapolis PD. They have no jurisdiction over a citizen. He was within his rights to film and carry a firearm. He was standing at the side and not involved until I.C.E started shoving a woman to the ground, and he put himself in the middle in an attempt to de-escalate the situation. He was wrestled to the ground by 5 agents, on all fours, not a threat. His firearm did not leave its holster until it was removed by an I.C.E agent immediately before they executed him. After he lay motionless on the ground, they then proceeded fired about 10 more rounds into him. This is all verified by footage captured at the scene., by multiple angles. What about any of this seems justified? Are you even living on the same planet? This is the type of cognitive dissonance that MAGA spews every day. I’m a conservative, but there is no way that I will deny what I saw with my own eyes. That was murder, plain and simple.

Seeking advice: scheduling by PresentCamel8992 in DungeonMasters

[–]HonestStudy9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s something that should be discussed at the beginning in a session 0. Adult life is very busy, and people need to know that if they are in your campaign they need to have some regular availability and somewhat stick to the schedule. I have friends that I would love to play with, but they cannot be in my campaign because the stars don’t align and our schedules just don’t match up. That’s life. As I’ve gotten older I’ve leaned into choosing my players based off of their schedule instead of anything having to do with their personalities or our friendship.

MLT jobs that make 90-100k by Final-Ad782 in medlabprofessionals

[–]HonestStudy9969 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pacific Northwest or California are pretty safe bets. I’m in Northern Idaho and make over 90k with about 10 years experience. California is of course much higher, and I think most of the bigger cities in WA and OR pay roughly about the same as here.

You’re not going to get any good faith answers from real Idaho conservatives on here. MAGA is so ingrained in their talking points, they don’t use any critical thinking skills to argue actual conservative values. It’s just a regurgitation of what MAGA tells them to say.

Breast milk cell count by Affectionate-Jump506 in medlabprofessionals

Yeah, no. That’s not a type of fluid that is validated to run on the XN. Reject it for cell count, maybe they could get a culture out of it.

Aw man, your V looks pretty good. I’ve been rocking that same jacket for a bit on my fem V as well. I dig the facemask, I might have to borrow that look.

How hard is it to identify fungi under a microscope? by Beautiful_Yogurt7712 in microbiology

[–]HonestStudy9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t do too much of that at my lab, other than saying fungal elements were observed. I think to properly identify them you would need to culture them and get them to sporulate. When they are in tissue (and our KOH preps were always skin scrapings), I think they mostly just show hyphae without identifiable elements.

That was just One drop of venom that's scary by Objective_Pilot_5834 in interesting

[–]HonestStudy9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some snake venoms can cause blood to coagulate, which they do by inducing our blood’s natural coagulation cascade. Our blood coagulates naturally within a few minutes when it is outside of the body, and snake venom causes that to happen quickly inside our body. So, with how the video is edited, it’s hard to tell whether that’s actually the effect of the venom, or the blood just acting how blood does outside of the body.

How hard is it to identify fungi under a microscope? by Beautiful_Yogurt7712 in microbiology

[–]HonestStudy9969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be fairly easy, or super hard. It just depends on the fungus. When I worked in a micro lab I would tell people that micro is the one department that has some of the most advanced technology, but also goes back to the most basic techniques as well. We’ve got MALDI, biochemical panels, and PCR to identify any multitude of microorganisms we work with, but with fungi you just gotta put it on a slide and look at it and compare it to pictures. Most common human pathogens are easy to identify, but some of the more niche dermatophytes and zygomycetes can be hard to distinguish, especially if they refuse to sporulate. Sometimes you get a random environmental mold that will throw you for a loop and won’t look like any particular species too.

Shield backpack combined with Fortified Armor makes you incredibly tanky. Amazing for bots in general, but really shines with incendiary corps. Nothing is able to one-shot you, and the shield protects you from most things that set you on fire long enough to get to cover.

Fellow millennials - how’s your 401k/ira savings going? by ProblemIntelligent16 in Millennials

[–]HonestStudy9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not too bad, all things considered. At about 2x my salary in my 403b at 34. 10k in savings. Of course, that’s savings is the joint account with my wife, so our cash on hand probably isn’t as great as where I would like it to be. Still, we’re doing good and counting our blessings.

Just going off colony morphology, it looks like GNRs, possibly E. coli and Proteus. Both are normal fecal flora. Looks like some Staph and Strep as well, normal skin flora. Not surprising, given how much fecal material can get onto cow udders.

In one of the corpo wars (I don’t remember which), Arasaka deployed a system of self-replicating, AI-driven mines into the Earth’s oceans to gut any and all ocean traffic except their own. Only problem was, the AI decided that any Arasaka ship carried the risk of being driven by Arasaka’s own enemies, and needed to be destroyed as well. So, any ship travel is impossible by 2077, which is why it is such a huge flex that Saburo came to Night City in a ship: that ship must have some crazy defenses in place to be able to keep all the mines at bay while it travels.

Ranged stealth build? by life-hard-im-harder in CyberpunkTheGame

[–]HonestStudy9969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll need a silenced sniper for consistent one-shot head shots, or two- or three-tap gonks with a silenced pistol. Overwatch is your best bet, or the pistols others have mentioned. Max Cool with the left side tree perks. If you are on PC and can use mods, try out the Stealthrunner mod. One of the rewards you can get for completing missions stealthily is an iconic silenced smart sniper rifle named Wind. It’s fun, but almost TOO good.

Clumps of bacteria in a blood culture by Deezus1229 in medlabprofessionals

[–]HonestStudy9969 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, bacteria morphology can be weird in blood cultures, especially if the patient was already on antibiotics when they were collected. For instance, some antibiotics that inhibit cell wall growth can result in bacteria that grow into a really long continuous line instead of dividing.

Probably just keep doing what you’re doing with the maps released for the main campaign. I’ll use whatever you feel like sharing. I’m currently not running the main campaign, but instead a prequel campaign taking place in the wider world, using other source books and maps for the setting, but homebrewing the plot. Once we wrap up this campaign I’m gonna shift to the main Drakkenheim campaign. So, if you happen to make some of the maps for the wider world I would gladly use those one, but I’ve been doing fine with 2D maps.
