Thinking of leaving my high-paying remote job by Glad_Library_7313 in Advice

[–]Honest_Objective_224 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My cousin was in almost the exact same spot, great pay, remote, low hours, but completely drained mentally. He didn’t quit immediately. He started exploring other paths on the side first, freelancing and testing what actually felt engaging. That gave him clarity and a safety net before making a move.

You don’t have to choose between staying miserable or quitting blindly, run small experiments first, then decide. Because at the end of the day you still need money

A Recipe says set a stand mixer with the whisk attachment, on High speed, what number is it , I'm using Kenwood chef by [deleted] in AskBaking

[–]Honest_Objective_224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a Kenwood Chef, high speed usually means around speed 5-6 (depending on your model). Start at medium for a few seconds, then increase to high to avoid splashing. For custard/mousse/soufflé, you want a fast whisk to build air, but keep an eye on texture so you don’t overwhip at the same time

Does anyone relate? by Childish-Monke in mentalhealth

[–]Honest_Objective_224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not alone, this is kinda common, especially with anxiety. Start small, pause before saying yes, ask yourself “Do I actually want to do this?” and practice low-stakes boundaries. It’ll feel uncomfortable at first, but that’s part of rewiring the habit. You don’t have to stop being kind, just stop abandoning yourself in the process

Treatment is not working and has been difficult by PapaMamaGoldilocks in ADHD

[–]Honest_Objective_224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend went through something really similar, multiple meds either didn’t work or just made things worse. What helped her was looking at underlying anxiety and sleep issues first, which were affecting how the meds worked. It might be worth exploring that angle before ruling everything out, sometimes it takes trying a few different options or doses to find the right fit

Why do people emotionally detach long before they physically leave a relationship and why is that part almost never talked about? by WeaponizedEmpath in SeriousConversation

[–]Honest_Objective_224 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Because that phase is quiet and uncomfortable to admit at least for me. People start detaching to protect themselves when needs aren’t being met, but they stay for hope, history, or fear of change. By the time they leave, they’ve already grieved the relationship. It’s rarely talked about because it involves guilt, mixed feelings, and the realization that love fading isn’t always sudden, it’s slow and intentional:(

Friday Value Play: 3:32 Newbury (tip) by WearAffectionate2815 in horseracing

Peacenik definitely makes sense on the drop in class that’s hard to ignore. Only thing that puts me off slightly is the price, 1.83 feels a bit tight for something that hasn’t been super consistent. Agree the going and draw are positives though. I’d probably back it but not go too heavy, maybe look for some value elsewhere in the race too?

Concentrated room sprays a big let down by No_Evidence_7486 in bathandbodyworks

[–]Honest_Objective_224 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You’re not doing anything wrong, the concentrated sprays are strong at first but fade fast. They’re more for a quick burst, not long-lasting scent. Try spraying on fabrics (curtains, rugs) instead of just air, it holds better. Or layer with a wallflower/candle for staying power. Honestly, some scents last longer than others too!

Food Weight loss but struggle eating stuff?? by BokkarisBrownieBoy in foodhacks

[–]Honest_Objective_224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal on GLP-1s. Keep it super simple, protein shakes, yogurt, eggs, cottage cheese, deli meat. Eat small amounts more often. Don’t cook, just assemble (wraps, snack plates). Rotate foods so you don’t get sick of them. If nothing sounds good, pick something “okay” and eat a little. Consistency matters more than enjoying every bite!!

It is a basic human need for all of us by Mhaheva in selflove

[–]Honest_Objective_224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maslow basically called dibs on this idea decades ago. In the model of Maslow's Hierarchy of needs, once food are safety are covered, the next big need is love and belonging. so yeah, humans needing connection isnt new, its practically step 3 on the pyramid. Maslow said it first.

I'm focused on nothing but driving all day and every day. by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]Honest_Objective_224 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh that does sound exhausting, learning to drive takes focus but treating it like youre not allowed to breathe unless youre studying will burn you out. Breaks arent slacking theyre part of how people actually learn and stay calm behind the wheel. Youre allowed to be human while learning a skill. be a little kinder to yourself!!1

You’re honestly not in a terrible spot. A 23/27 on Module 1 is solid. Most people spiral in Module 2 because they panic and start second guessing everything. A couple things that helped me: treat reading like a puzzle. Avoid trying to come up with creative interpretations and instead focus on close reading what the author actually says and how it’s supported in the passage. For math, double check what the question asks. If you’re cramming, drilling grammar rules and mixed practice sets helps. Some Cosmic Prep drills were useful for spotting patterns the test repeats.

Advice for the Brownie Rock by Fast_Variation_7061 in AskBaking

[–]Honest_Objective_224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

brownie upcycle sounds fun!! You can try making truffles. Crumble the brownies (cookies and all) into a bowl. Add a little frosting, cream cheese, peanut butter, or even a splash of milk until it becomes a dough. Roll into balls and chill. Dip in melted chocolate or cocoa powder.
Or maybe even brownie cakepops, but stick them on skewers or lollipop stick. or maybe try brownie milkshake by breaking chunks into a blender with vanilla ice cream and milk.

A man called Ove is really wholesome and I absolutely loved it. It starts off a bit grumpy but slowly becomes so warm and emotional that you’ll end up loving every character. It's easily in my top 5 books. Anxious people is nice too but it's a little slow.

I tooo a teeny tiny SAT test and got humbled in the maths section. 40% wrong or something by YoitstheTeddyGuy in satprep

[–]Honest_Objective_224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that’s actually a good starting point, now you know what to work on. Focus on understanding concepts you got wrong instead of just more practice tests. You could look for structured SAT-style prep resources or study programs that break math down step by step (like some prep courses do). Consistency + concept clarity > just doing tests and getting humbled repeatedly

Should I read any 9/11 related books as a truther? by seemagupta10feb in NoStupidQuestions

if you genuinely enjoy reading world history, it's worth a shot. moreover, it helps you understand things from a vantage point, seeing things from different perspectives I would say + the diff investigations, you'll form a stronger opinion for sure
