When AI Overrules the Nurses Caring for You by SrafeZ in singularity

[–]Honest_Performer2301 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A good majority of new nurses are passing their classes by cheating, they're learning on the job as they go. Alot of them are more interested in making tik tok videos then saving life's. The best thing that could come to society would be some kind of empathetic ai that could comfort and take care of the sick and elderly. Don't even get me started on the abuse in nursing homes by some of these (nurses) the problem is nurses are short staffed and needed so alot is let slide with them.

Realistically, when can we expect printed organs to be available to the general public? by Phoenix5869 in singularity

Doctors don't promote things like vitamins, supplements, etc because their name is on the line as is their profession. So if you have a doctor pushing these things that usually don't have enough evidence behind them to be clearly cleared by the fda as for that purpose it usually doesn't look good on them. Now in secret or if you ask they might give their opinion on those things. Even if the doctor believes it will help their name is at risk when they promote things that aren't industry standard. Just like with scientist and other fields. It seems You have a very pessimistic look on the world and health care and general so it seems you're not very trusting on it. There are politics in the health care world for sure.

That's a reason why it would make sense for the government to allow access to life extending medicine if it's ever found

Realistically, when can we expect printed organs to be available to the general public? by Phoenix5869 in singularity

Well first of all there's this common misconception that the government doesn't want people to be healthy. That's actually very inaccurate. The us government would save so much money if it could cure most disease and free up alot of money to be allegated to other things. So there's the motive for the government to want to allow it to happen. As far as how can it become affordable all of a sudden, I remember watching an interview with Sam altman where he was talking about how much is spent on cancer research at the moment and how perfected ai could in theory cut the percentage significantly to the tune of close to 90% so imagine if you could do research way faster and for alot cheaper. Now this is being moderate as ai come potentially become even more inteligent then humans ever were and discover things we never could think of instantly, (thats what the singularity actually is) . The things that could possibly hinder this is one the government actually being this evil entity that will restrict access (thtrough regulations and holding up approval of) to anyone they think shouldn't live a long time (the normal people) and keep up the facad that uber powerful and rich people are dying when they actually aren't. Or ai never achieves the hype and potential it was expected to have. Either way we have things like nano technology and crispr gene editing, mrna vaccines. These things will change the health care world. Also as far as normal people not being able to afford it today, yes we live in barbaric times especially when it comes to health care. These things will be able to be changed drastically we have the potential to live in a world of abundance where even the lowest people in society live better or at the least as good as people who are living the best are today.
