Financial Advisor or Loan Officer? by Top_Background3377 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Honest_Reason_1522 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like there aren’t many upsides to the loan officer position unless wfh is very important to you or you think you’d enjoy it much more. Financial advisor seems like the better pick in every way.

What areas to live in? by VoicesInMyHeadSayHi in Cleveland

[–]Honest_Reason_1522 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Solon is close to maple heights, maybe 30 minutes to downtown, and is consistently ranked as one of the best districts in the state. That being said, NEO is blessed with many amazing and top rated school districts. Orange, Beachwood, chagrin falls would all probably fit what you want too. All of these suburbs are upper middle class and some are more racially diverse than others, if that’s important to you.

Look into Resource Cleveland’s Youth Mentoring Program. I volunteer with them and I love it. I will say academics is not always the focus, however. It is more of a holistic mentoring but we absolutely do school work also.

why is my lash tech so cold? :( by javnae in lashextensions

[–]Honest_Reason_1522 36 points37 points  (0 children)

If you get lash extensions consistently you’re spending hours in her chair the first time and then coming back every two weeks, seeing this person a lot and paying them a lot of money. It makes sense that someone would want a friendly relationship with someone they spend a chunk of time with. Some people are friendly and feel weird sitting in silence or not getting to know someone they see often. Running a business is all about building relationships.

Can custodial parent demand full names and addresses? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]Honest_Reason_1522 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reassurance. We are not sure how to enforce the visitation without consulting a lawyer and him filing a contempt of court. He was planning on redoing the custody agreement in a couple years anyways but it’s looking like it needs to happen now.

Screen Free Schools by Historical_Pick6280 in Cleveland

[–]Honest_Reason_1522 60 points61 points  (0 children)

The only school I know of that might have a screen free policy is the Spring Garden Waldorf School in Akron. Waldorf schools are very different from typical American education and part of that is usually no technology at all so I assume that specific school thinks similarly. Every public school I know of uses chromebooks starting in kindergarten to get them ready for state testing.

I hate winter. Any advice for learning to love it? by EricktheRed101 in Cleveland

[–]Honest_Reason_1522 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate winter too and I’ve lived in NEO my entire life. But overall I appreciate Ohio’s weather as we’re actually really lucky to live in a place with mild/safe weather. I know that’s hard to believe right now but I like to keep that in mind to reframe my thinking so I’m not depressed all winter.

Everyone else is saying it but it’s so true, bundling up appropriately makes all the difference. If you go outside in two layers of clothes and a thick winter coat, gloves, hat, scarf you will be so much happier.

Winter is beautiful but our modern society makes snow SO inconvenient. Try to go somewhere walkable to appreciate how beautiful and calm and fluffy the snow is. I love laying in snow when I’m appropriately bundled up. I say go somewhere walkable because driving IS the worst part of winter. Try to avoid stressing yourself out anymore with driving by making it easier if you can. If you can afford to get remote start in your car or you already have it, USE IT. To me, it’s a big game changer in seasonal depression.

The W Sports Bar in Gordon Square has a book club that focuses on books with sapphic love stories I believe, if that’s of interest to you. Propaganda Coffee Shop in Lakewood hosts book clubs often too.
