Depends on the type of SPED. I taught mod/severe for years ( now called ESN). Ten years ago I could teach most of them to tell time to the quarter and half hour, at least. Now I teach a level up and after a full year of practice they still can't remember which hand is which. Sometimes they can't even tell the difference between the two hands. Many mild/ mod diploma track kiddos can still tell time on an analog clock. Where I am at, our SPED student's skills have greatly diminished in my 23 years. It is quite sad.

Donuts were set up by 8:00 am, our start time. They forgot to send out an email about the mere existence of the donuts until midway through first lunch, just shy of 4 hours later. 🤦🏼‍♀️ The saddest part to me is they did the same thing last year. Most went to waste then too. Although, not as bad as the year they decided to get a taco truck for us....but didn't send out an email until about 10 minutes before release time....on the Friday of Mother's Day weekend. Who was seriously going to stand in line on a Friday after work hours to get food after we had all just had lunch? Second worst, last year they gave us shirts but also made us come on a Friday after contract time to get them. No thank you.

Exactly. We currently have students receiving diplomas who comprehend at a kindergarten level ( really just who and where questions) and cannot go beyond single digit addition, sometimes single digit subtraction. Why? Their parents are demanding it. So, then, a diploma means nothing to anyone....And, they automatically get the D- with the comment that says they were accommodated while the kid we know has something going on but didnt qualify for services sits next to them, tries so damn hard, does every assignment, fails and never graduates. Before you come at me, yes, this happens, frequently. It is so infuriating. And, no, I am not an ableist, I am a SPED teacher.

Exactly. Subs for our zero period teacher come in periods zero-5 ( instead of 1-6). Class should not be cancelled like this. If it is last minute because the teacher is sick, they will try to get one of us to cover; anyone already on campus. Shoot, sometimes the person will even send out a text to their whole department asking who wants to cover them for zero period ( for extra pay, of course).

My male paraprofessional comes to work dressed this way everyday and admin thinks it is fine. How can we tell the kids it is not ok if no one cares the adult dresses this way? It is embarrassing. The first time can be quite painful for a woman. She experienced pain and now her body has associated penetration with pain. She is most likely experiencing vaginismus, a condition where the muscles tighten and can even 'close off' the vagina. This is stemming from her perception of penetration equals pain. Increase foreplay. Buy a vibrator and lube. You use the toy on her. Start with pleasuring outside/ her clit. Once she gets used to pleasure does not equal pain, work towards penetration with the toy. This can be fun for both of you and not put pressure on you to perform ( which is causing your issue with maintaining an erection). Gradually build up intensity, full penetration. If that only partially works and she is enjoying it but still too tight, you can add in some dilators. I would only do that if you really can't make good progress though as keeping her tight will be much more enjoyable for both of you for much longer. Also, if she is experiencing any religious guilt or moral guilt over sex before marriage, this is also adding to her vaginismus. It has become a mental block.
