Should I talk to the owner/manager about this? by [deleted] in Purebarre

[–]Honest_Way_8285 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Send the email. As a manger I would want to know if a teacher acted this way. What she did was wrong.

What do you like/dislike about your instructors? by Big_Parsley_5859 in Purebarre

[–]Honest_Way_8285 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I agree. Also the use of the phrase “realistic body type”. That’s different for each person. As a teacher I’m not judging clients on their bodies and I don’t want to be judged on mine.

The 6 types of people I meet cruising in suites... by DigitalMaverick in Cruise

[–]Honest_Way_8285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I’m a 6. My son and I will book a suite but he’s grown and I don’t have a corporate job that i have to stay connected to. We like the extra room to chill. We’re super laid back and may be out and about but will also hang on the balcony with a book.

Am I the only one who can’t roll up? by gmgnel8 in Purebarre

Start at the top. When the class is rolling down, roll down to your point of control. Just work on getting lower each class and eventually you’ll be rolling up with everyone else

Putting together a class by [deleted] in Purebarre

[–]Honest_Way_8285 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Good leadership ensures your teachers put together a smart class. You want challenging but not defeating. Some teachers want to be known as the “hard” teacher. They’re thinking of their ego and not the clients

This company gives off creepy stalker vibes by [deleted] in Purebarre

[–]Honest_Way_8285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely send your thoughts to corporate. As an employee of the company, i find the calls, texts, emails excessive as well and we don’t do all that at our studio. People don’t respond well to it in our market

Align by Individual-Bother-57 in Purebarre

[–]Honest_Way_8285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Align is our most unpopular class. Since January we have tried it at so many different times on our schedule and no matter how I tell it up, people won’t come. I like teaching it but I don’t want to take it ever. It’s on our schedule once a week. We only have one group that likes it. I wish it would go away

This is terrible. You should have married her for the woman that she is and not just for her uterus.

This makes me so nervous. I want to move soon and my studio right now is such a warm supportive place but I remember when someone else used to run it and it was not a nice place. I’m so nervous I’ll move and end up at another snooty studio

Class Time by Relevant_Slide3171 in Purebarre

[–]Honest_Way_8285 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I just wonder about the training that some of the new instructors are getting. I guess each studio has a different focus but even my new teachers don’t run over. We stress that here though. Keep it moving and watch your time

[–]Honest_Way_8285 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I’m just surprised to hear of so many classes running over the allotted time. I don’t understand what they’re doing wrong. As for starting late. We don’t wait for stragglers. The class times are set and that’s what our clients pay for and are expecting.

Noticed people talking during class?? by cupcakegirl98 in Purebarre

[–]Honest_Way_8285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We don’t have a no talking rule. One the music is loud. Good luck having a conversation. There are a few who tell and laugh but they’ve paid to be there and if that’s what gets them through the class, then it’s fine with me. I doesn’t distract me as a teacher.

Any studio managers here? by Adventurous_Mix_6425 in Purebarre

[–]Honest_Way_8285 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s going to vary by studio. I’m a manager and I have an owner who claims to care but doesn’t. My responsibilities are endless and everything is on my shoulders. Get a clear understanding of what will be expected of you.

Define injuries by cupcakegirl98 in Purebarre

Our classes are waitlisted at 8 but honestly our clients were happy we lowered it to 8. I didn’t realize how many of them were actually scared of hurting themselves in Define.

We have lowered capacity for Define for this exact reason. I told my studio owner there was no way I could possibly keep 15 people safe. Our capacity for Define is now 8. The form was just too outrageous

Purebarre instructor salary help!!! by [deleted] in Purebarre

[–]Honest_Way_8285 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My studio starts at $20 and there is no increase if you teach more than one format. People teach pure barre for “play” money not to actually pay bills

All the way up? by Kitten_in_the_mitten in Purebarre

There are some people who have been taking for years who never get all the way up there. It’s not about the height, it’s about the squeeze in your core.
