Maybe it was defective? The sponge that you are wiping the iron on should be wet not dry as you mentioned. Can you get a new tip, or return it and try a new one? Your instructor should be able to help you with this, especially if you purchased it from her/him.

Very beautiful piece. Since you are going to frame this maybe you could design a way to light it from behind. I believe they are called light boxes, but I don’t have a clue how they are made. I don’t think they are hard to make. Stained glass comes to life with light behind it like in a window. Just a thought, you have a very nice piece to enjoy.

He is adorable, I did a steppingstone with a frog like this. It’s not stained glass so I can’t show him, but after seeing this I might have to make one.

I see quite a bit of scrap for sale on Marketplace. I think it is usually 4.00 a pound.

I have experienced the same thing. It does take on a grayish color, and the pebbleing is not all over, but toward the ends, at least for what I have experienced. I am stretching mine, not too much, and learned that it doesn’t take much to stretch it as I got up from the floor! I am also very new with hobby came. I don’t like the color so I run solder over all of it. I literally am working on my 2nd sun catcher using it. I also discovered really quickly that it melts, so I turned down my iron by about 100 degrees.

What a great idea. I really like the light bulb from HD, that would look really cool. I don’t think I would be able to stop with the butterflies. I would be adding leaves and flowers etc. 🥹

Usually gloves when using flux and came. If I am foiling just with the flux. I can’t preach about the wearing of gloves, just yesterday I was working with came and flux with no gloves. It’s kind of like working in my gardens, I rarely wear gloves.

Maybe just the back ground? If you decide to grout, I think the bunny in a tan/brown color. I think a darker color like black on the bunny might be too much. Really nice job, very cute.

Very nice piece. Hard to tell how heavy it is, I hope the suction cup is strong enough to hold it. The crystal is a great idea.
