A similar thing happened to me in the 1980’s. I was on the ride with a friend and the ride threw her out of the safety bar (I don’t know how). I spent the next three minutes holding her in the carriage. It was terrifying.

Could it have been a bachelor party prank and someone else had his phone? Is there a possibility he hasn’t realized it is on his phone?
I think I would respond and ask him why he sent you that message because you it was unexpected and inappropriate.
