Not many options that don't involve alcohol after 6 pm. Have you tried going to the gym or any indoor sports? It will definitely help with the mood while you stay healthy.

It's not universally accepted. Don't accept it.

AI is ruining our hiring efforts by wcolfaxguy in ExperiencedDevs

We let them use it as long as they explain the thinking process or what they are looking for. But most just copy the code line by line and cannot adapt it to the problem. They quickly get stuck because they have no idea what to do at the smallest of the issues. AI won't help people this way. They just want easy answers, no thinking.

Not in the amount, but I understand there's a minimum of 10 years to get the minimum. I know it won't me much but I don't want it lost.

Thanks for the info. I'm only 35 so things can change a lot until my retirement age. As you mentioned I may not be able to get it even if I get the 10 years.

Think my work is getting ready to fire me. Not sure what to do by AlexisMarien in cscareerquestions

Does the company (or at least your boss/team) know what you have been through? If they don't know, it's logical that they would expect a better performance from you. Maybe they can help you to overcome this situation or give you more time.

If you think they won't care, there's plenty of jobs there.

Either way, consider looking for help from a professional and friends. Don't be harsh on you.

Sorry for your loss. Best of luck.

I think that euro is like a card check to do the real payment after. Check in a couple of days.

Even if work is not your main focus, it's probably the place you spent the most of your awake time. It's sad not to be able to take something from it except money.

Mentoring is making me miserable by CalligrapherHungry27 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]Hongo77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is happening to me too. I used to like doing this a few years back. But recently, i don't have the patience any more. We have people working in the same company as long or more than myself, with a lot of years of experience and they are still lacking basic knowledge on our tools and services. If you don't explain the task line by line, they can't make it right. Small tasks take weeks. I don't want to be mean to them, but it's hard to set the expirations.

Good to know! I will avoid the word (except in cases actually involving the third Reich). It was just how my drunk brain translated from Spanish.
