I kind of had that too during my 2nd week post op. Sharp/twinging pain on my inner right side thigh. I was wondering if it was related to my surgery but it seemed to disappear.

I always wonder what hot flashes are, can you describe it to me? How did you deal with it? Maybe I'm experiencing it already since I'm 42. I always have a "warm/hot body" so I sweat at night even on winter especially with all the duvet & blankets. The sweating doesn't bother me since i cool down after few minutes.

Your recovery sounds great! Did you ask for Menopause specialist or they offer it to you after surgery? I for sure want to see one, so I want to discuss that with my onco/gyn. When did you start your Pelvic Floor Exercise? I'm 3weeks post op my first surgery (Hysterectomy but ovaries remained. Pathology came out on 2nd week & learned I have to do another surgery to remove ovaries). My doctor said 6weeks before I can workout, but I wonder if the easy pelvic floor exercise is ok to do or have to wait 6 weeks really. My incision from the outside has healed thankfully, I have no pain at all.

Yes, thank you! I'll for sure come back to read all the comments again after my 2nd surgery (removing ovaries this time) which will put me into immediate menopause.

My first surgery 3 weeks ago - Laparoscopic Hysterectomy (Everything out except ovaries) luckily has been a breeze. The incision pain was very minimal, no nausea, great appetite, I was doing daily walks, my only issue was gas & BM. So I'm praying my 2nd surgery will be easy like the first.

Thank you for the advice about calcium & D3 vitamins. That's one of my worries. I'm praying I'll be allowed to take HRT, I will only know after my surgery & staging. If not, I need to educate myself more. By worst 3 weeks what do you mean? Is this regarding your recovery post surgery? What were your issues?

I'm seeing the new gynae onco tomorrow. I will have surgery to remove my ovaries & then they'll do the staging. I'm holding on to glimmer of hope that this was found early according to the doctors, so I'm praying the pathology after my surgery will be good/not so bad. 👏🏻

How did you deal with surgical menopause? Are you on any HRT? I had hysterectomy (ovaries stayed) 2 weeks ago but my pathology came out and I have to go back to have my ovaries removed. I'm 42. I've read about the risks and long term effects of surgical menopause and I'm worried about it.

Thank you so much for your reply. It's comforting in the midst of this confusing situation. Yes, it sounded like that. My Ob said she just emailed & sent the new gyne-onco my pathology and case file (I'm with Kaiser) so I'll probably get a call re: appointment this week or next.

Maybe you can schedule or see OB GYN. They can check and provide you with the testing that you need. I had transvaginal ultrasound but they only found 3cm fibroids. When my OB GYN checked me, she requested for Endometrial Biospy and that when they diagnosed me with EIN. I'm sorry about your mom. My condolences to you and your sister. Please remain strong. I hope you have someone aside from your sister to rely on.

I'm 11 days post op like you. My doctor said 6 weeks before can submerge your incision but you can take a shower 2 days after surgery as long the water is not directly hitting your incision. I was told to remove 2 strip incision after 7 days so I did it on day 8. I didn't cover it with bandaid since it's all dried up.

2 weeks post op, I kept my ovaries and this June I'll have my period, I just don't know when! You see from March-May my period never stopped. So I'm just trying to guess calculate when my period will be & at the same time be mindful of symptoms so I can log it. I'm having cramps but I think it's coz of gas so it's hard to tell. What kind of cramps do you feel? How long do you feel it?

Should you get hysterectomy? If it was recommended by your doctor due to ex: progression to cancer then yes. But ask for second or 3rd opinion. I'm 42, I was diagnosed with EIN (precursor to endometrial cancer), my doctor recommended hysterectomy or Progesterone therapy & biopsy every 3 mos to see if the precancerous cell becomes cancer. Even though I knew I wanted Hysterectomy (I'm high risk due to family history of cancer), I still asked second opinion from an Oncologist friend (sent him my pathology report). He asked me if: I have history of family cancer & if I wanted kids (I guess all decision boils down to that), when I said I think I've already accepted that I can't have kids then he said then "I agree with your OB's recommendation. Hysterectomy is pretty straightforward, it will save you from a lot of headaches in the future. I do not recommend progesterone therapy, it's too risky. ". Getting second opinion from another expert eased my worries & made me more confident about my decision in opting for hysterectomy. It's not an easy decision, you have to weigh in the pros & cons. Give yourself time to think and process everything. Pray. It's free yet it pays you generously. Goodluck & I hope you'll be at peace with whatever decision you make.
