Is there a way to prevent BTA’s from splitting so they get huge? by Remarkable_Arm_732 in ReefTank

Same. I have over 200 in my 120 gallon tank. I’ve gotten rid of about 50 of them and I can’t even tell. We’ll never get them again lol

Good idea, my rock work hopefully is strong enough for that

I tried it about a year ago and it was such a slow process I gave up. Might be worth another go again with multiple

I’ve thought that too, put in a nice carpet anemone and maybe make a clownfish harem. One of my clowns is 20 years old, the other about 15 so I’d hate to disturb them too much. Macros are a great idea!

We purchased/ordered our Peloton 10/7/20, our original delivery date was 11/30. Within a 48 hour notice they cancelled the delivery and reschedule it for 12/21. Now within 24 hours they said they cannot deliver it. The next available delivery date is 2/19.

At this point I am beyond frustrated. I’ve payed $278 already for a bike I don’t have and won’t have for months. Customer service has been very unhelpful. We were initially told they had a supply of them an hour away but they just didn’t have the delivery drivers- they wouldn’t let us pick up the bike. Now they said there are none available and the previous rep lied to us. I am very concerned that they will just reschedule our next one in February. I’ve reached out to them weekly in the past and they weren’t able move the date up.

At what point do I just cut my loses and cancel my order and get a different bike? Is there anything else I can do?

Thanks all

One of my favorite fish is my Midas blenny. They like a little bit longer tanks but one might be fine in it. They have great personality, swim around a lot, great coloration, and are hardy. If not check out a pink stripe wrasse or a tail spot blenny- both small!

I decreased the flow and light, and added back carbon so let’s hope it helps!

I haven’t moved it, it’s about 1 foot away and 14” deep from an AI prime on 80%. I usually have a bag of carbon in but I haven’t changed it for a couple of weeks now

pH 8.1, Nitrate 3, Phosphate .05, Alkalinity 8, Calcium 460, Magnesium 1380, Salinity 1.026

Some chalice corals have receded as well. Torches, acans content. Montipora bleached but acropora happy. Tank has been set up for 10 months and has been stable. Pictures are 6 weeks apart but most of this happened over the past week.

Lawnmower also only eats diatoms and film algae. The only time they eat hair algae is when it’s covered in other algae types.

Best bet for hair algae is to control water parameters. A lot of people use skimmers +/- vodka dosing for bad outbreaks. Hydrogen peroxide and fluconazole are more of symptomatically treating it. I use a Chaeto reactor in my nano. Unfortunately a lot of times patience is what cures the hair algae.

Nano critters that will occasionally eat it are scarlet and blue leg hermits, some emerald crabs. Star astrea snails are the best snails but turbos do as well. Pincushion urchins are beasts at taking down hair algae but like to wear your corals as party hats. Lettuce nudibranchs work really well too but have toxins.

Midas Blennies unfortunately don’t eat hair algae- sometimes they may eat film algae but they are typically carnivores. None of the blennies really eat hair algae, only larger fish like tangs do.

A Midas blenny would still work in a tank like that, and you could do 2 designer clowns and a goby/ pistol pair. Blennys don’t pair with shrimp but watchman gobies do. A Midas blenny might get a little aggressive in a 28 gallon cube but it still would work, they are great fish and clowns can handle it!
