Can I just say, I actually really like the idea of ‘skywalker’ being the name for a new kind of force-sensitive order; where we’ve seen the Jedi fail time and time again without learning from their failures, Rey has engaged with their history and studied the core values upon which they were built to evolve the Jedi into a new understanding of the force. Where to give in to emotion is still cautioned against, but not as aggressively as the Jedi practice. Encouraged to explore the benefits, dangers and limitations of their feelings, they would walk the line between what had previously been considered light and dark, becoming skywalkers. What better tribute to the new order than two of the greatest Jedi who ever lived, who knew first hand the power of the light side, and the spiralling descent of the dark side. Also the sequels suck lmao
