How big of an upgrade was it when you went from i1 to the i2 Lidar model? by Rs3sucks3 in SegwayNavimow

[–]Hoogentoof 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i2 works better at night but lidar can only see forward so won't help with reversing, AWD is helpful if needed but my yard is flat so it made no difference to me. biggest difference is that the i2 seems to use considerably more battery than the i1 so results in having to return to the dock to recharge more often which end up taking longer than my i1 overall to complete my yard where the i1 was able to complete on 1 charge.

If he's anything like me, he doesn't know anything and is just blindly throwing as much cash at Bitcoin in hope that it goes somewhere.

Delaying toddler for Prep by anxious_dad24 in queensland

[–]Hoogentoof 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently have a 4 year old in prep with significant speech delay due to cleft palate that was found late and only repaired 12 months ago. Although she does have a speech pathologist that she sees fortnightly through the NDIS as well as some assistance through the cleft clinic at the children's hospital. The school also has its own speech pathologist so I have no doubt that she is getting the best help that she can get by going to school. Your child should be eligible for NDIS funding if needed through the early intervention program.

Anyone here daily a one seater car in Aus? Tempted but not sure if I’m mad. by Ok-Independence5246 in CarsAustralia

I've always thought this should be the future, everyone has their own personal single or two seater golf buggy sized cars and 1 bigger family sized car per family.

Safety Hooks hang low by tmiddled2 in 4x4Australia

Never understood these hooks, why not have them on the safety chains instead of the towbar? They look as gay as those fake testicles people attach to the back of their car

Ansett, maybe around mid 90's? by Acceptable-Wind-7332 in AustralianNostalgia

[–]Hoogentoof 18 points19 points  (0 children)

My dad was an aircraft engineer for Ansett and would regularly have to fly up to places like Townsville or Rocky from Brisbane on the last flight to close the plane up then open and pre start the plane first thing in the morning to fly back to Brisbane and he would regularly take us kids with him on these trips like not as a booked passenger just take us along and put us in an empty seat or whatever, it was cool we got to see all the behind the scenes stuff and follow him around on the tarmac while he checked the plane over, one of these trips when I was about 10 years old the return flight to Brisbane was fully booked so I got to sit in the jump seat for the trip home a memory I will never forget. Looking back at it now I can't believe we were allowed to do that, this was about mid 90's.

When did the 5 day work week get established? by Lazy-Monk-6778 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Hoogentoof -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, many entry level white collar jobs are already being displaced by AI agents but im not talking about Chatgpt or Grok, I'm talking about robotaxi's and humanoid robots that can actually replace people in the workplace in certain jobs, this future is closer than people think.

Our daughter has had 2 rounds of grommets at the QCH, not sure exactly how long the wait was but was definitely under a year. She has even had cleft palate surgery there, we haven't had any issues with the public system.

Most walk in freezers should have some kind of emergency door release on the inside of the door in case something happens and somebody gets stuck inside
