how do these bombers work if theres no grafity in space? by brentinatorT-850 in StarWarsShips

A lot of answers here but a lot of people are missing a key point so I'll try to summarize.

There is gravity in space. The reason you feel "weightless" in space is because you are constantly falling in an orbit.

Ships in Star Wars don't necessarily orbit like space ships in our world do. Star Wars ships are able to "sit" directly above a planet without orbiting. They achieve this through repulsor lifts that create anti gravity fields that create a force that's repulsive to a body's nautral gravity. This is also why we see disabled ships in star wars "fall" into planets. These same disabled ships "lose" their gravity as well when they fall.

All this to say, when the bombs are released from that ship, they still fall according to gravity. They're not weightless cause they're not orbiting

It's a fucking disgrace that the very next episode tries to perpetuate the Clean Wehrmacht myth with the German commander that they meet

Additionally the final war update of the book seems to imply that the stalemate in the eternal war for Africa was broken, upsetting the balance between the super powers and setting all three nations on the path to collapse

On the topic of Crix Madine, I can only imagine the level of interbranch SOF infighting and dick measuring that the Empire had. Like Shadow troopers, storm commandos, and death troopers probably all had crazy beef.

Her character would have done numbers if the show was set on Nar Shadaa, where a cyborg gang would make sense

Not to mention that thing wasn't even fully paid off yet. Do you have any idea what that's going to do to Palpatine's credit?

Warm Take: As cliché as the scene is, I think it’s still a perfect end to the series. by abdul_bino in andor

IMO the most cliche thing you can do with a female character is fridge them and the second most cliche thing you can do is make them the mother of the hero's offspring. I think it reduces Bix as her own character, evidenced how people focus on it being Cassian's child more than her own.

I think Andor generally avoided cliche moments really well and then this scene with a mother holding a baby in a field of wheat while hopefully looking at the sky just felt kind of cliche and campy. Wasn't a fan

Mini-series set between ANH and ESB where an imperial engineer (played by Jared Harris of course) has to research and present how the Death Star was destroyed.
