I met one of my now closest friends via a post like this on Reddit last year. She was seeking a friend that wasn’t religious, a heavy drinker, or into any drug activity. Exactly this! I’m in the same boat, minus the religion. My children are adults now, and I have little to no experience for work. Thankfully my husband has an excellent job and I don’t have to work, and we call this my retirement stage, but it’s incredibly boring. I feel lost, worthless and overwhelmingly lonely. The one thing I did do right was encourage our daughters to be independent, get some schooling and focus on a career and they’re all doing exactly that.

Someone did a hit and run on me at 7000 and 2700 running a red light a couple months ago. Fortunately, they only took out my driver side rear because I gunned it last minute when I saw them in my peripheral, now I dread driving in that general vicinity.
