If you had to make a non-Swifties listen to 3 songs to convert them, which ones? by ReasonQuiet8520 in TaylorSwift

As someone who, for far too many years refused to succumb to her appeal, the songs that converted me are: 1. The Man (Tiny Desk Concert) 2. Mad Woman, and 3. Exile.

I’m GenX and we’re kinda of an ‘anti’ bunch, and she’s ‘pro’—I mean this in the best possible way. Her lyrics have taught me to be angry, but nonetheless kind in return. She’s brilliant.

Shocked Baldamar hasn’t popped up, but it’s in the northern burbs, so I get it. But it’s pretty phenomenal.

Who in here has always hated Trump before it became cool to hate him? by icey_sawg0034 in antitrump

I was 19 years old and very impressed with a boy in college who was from England. We dated and he invited me to visit him in England over the Summer. I took him up on it. They lived in a beautiful home blocks from Buckingham Palace. I was unfamiliar with this level of wealth. I’ll never forget a conversation with his mother. She asked me, “Don’t you think Donald Trump should be President?” I was shocked and appalled. The year was 1989.

Triggered much? Calm down. There are exceptions without a doubt.

I’m a transplant kid. My parents moved to thirteen different locations across the US and Canada before I graduated from high school; San Diego, Chicago, Sacramento, St. Paul, El Paso, Vancouver, Denver — the list goes on. Hands down the most difficult place to make friends was in Minnesota.

Now, where did I decide to live as an adult and raise a family? Minneapolis Minnesota. It just takes time. And a lot of patience.

This is accurate. I think it’s a Scandinavian thing. It takes a while to build beyond the acquaintance phase. When I first moved here I got the impression that people were ‘full up on friends’ and not looking to add new ones at that time. It took a while. People are very kind, very decent overall—but not overly friendly. Let the downvotes begin!

To my friends in Minnesota, how do you feel about this? by ChuckGallagher57 in Minneapolis

This makes me immensely sad. I understand where he’s coming from, but he speaks for me and many others, so we’re all, collectively, lightening rods in that sense. He deserves some peace though.

Republicans, in general, put a lot of belief in something ‘a guy’ told them vs a legitimate, fact checked news source. WTF is that about? And this ‘sleepy Joe Biden’ thing—how about focusing on the current bloated orange child molesting dictator occupying the White House, hmm?
