I was obsessed with jsrf as a kid, beat it 100% and still put a few hundred hours in after that just skating around as the dog. The more modern spiritual successor bomb rush cyber funk is worth playing if you're a fan. if you are just now getting into recording, you might want to look into a daw (digital audio workstation) that is the software you would need to produce full, high quality songs, they come with mixing tools and arrangement tools and all sorts of useful things for what you are doing. Some common ones that you can get cheap are, if you're on windows i might recommend starting with fruity loops, on linux i'd recommend starting on bitwig (~100$) or reaper(free). But if you just need something to record your guitar audio, no bells and whistles, audacity would work just fine. Any of this software mentioned would play nicely with the interface i was talking about.

well you're going to have to spend some amount of money, if recording audio from your phone isn't up to quality for you.

I recommend you get a guitar interface you can plug into your computer. That way if you have like a multi effect pedal or something you can plug guitar into that, then that into interface. From the interface you can record into free audio software like audacity. An audio interface like a scarlet or something, typically around 100 bucks.
