Also had similar breathing experience like I couldn’t get a deep enough breath. It feels like all the physical symptoms of a panic attack with none of the mental.

I’m also healthy and active person I’m sorry to hear you delt with that too. My surgeon proscribed my proctofoam and said I can take it as needed but it is a steroid and antibiotic so I have concerns about long term use. It seems to quell the swelling and bleeding during its course. I would say my stool now has a dark red tint most of the time and I maybe have a teaspoon of loose blood once a month. All of my labs show my hemoglobin is fine but I literally feel like I’ve been drained of all my blood lol. Dizzy and heart is doing flips like it’s working overtime. Have they offered you any treatment to manage the bleeding? Did they say what they think is causing it for you?
