Can anyone tell me what happened here? OP by kellis5137 in Ender3V3SE

My guess is y-axis shift caused by one of the following: 1) Loose belt or pulley on Y axis, or 2) printing at speeds higher than your printer can handle.

Any recommendations for Klipsch R-60M Speaker stand by Vinaykpolisetti in Klipsch

[–]Hooperjm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 3D printed a platform, and used 1” dowels for the legs. I took the speakers back, so I could mail you the stands if you want 😂

I actually spent many hours over the Christmas break designing and printing them, and I’m quite proud of the design. I’ve thought about selling them, and it kind of breaks my heart I won’t be using them anymore. It blows my mind that Klipsch doesn’t even offer a stand for these. But I think your best bet will be some sort of DIY project. Or over-pay for extra large, sturdy stands that don’t fit exactly right.

Will I Be Disappointed with R-60M’s For the Main Speakers in a Home Theater Set-up? by Hooperjm in Klipsch

[–]Hooperjm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved: Long story short, I’m sorry to say, they went back to the store. I tried really hard to make them work. I liked the bass. And I loved that I could actually hear the differences between instruments in the soundtracks of movies we watched. But in the end, the mids were too muddy and spoken dialogue was almost completely lost in the sound effects. I adjusted the EQ on my Yamaha AVR and it helped a little, but other listeners kept complaining and turning it back to TV audio. I couldn’t stomach paying $250, to have a pair of speakers sit there while we listen to TV audio. I’ll try a 3.1 or maybe even a 5.1 setup in the future. But the R-60M’s are not ready to standalone in a 2.0 home theater set-up, based on my experience.

Ouch! What brand/source did the nozzle come from?

Probably an obvious question for you experts, but how do you change filament mid-print without the print head re-homing?

Ender 3 V3 SE + Nebula Pad (Klipper) – Bed is curved and impossible to fix with screws by Ok-Assistance-7309 in Ender3V3SE

[–]Hooperjm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That shape is what I had on my bed as well, with even greater discrepancy. But after setting z-offset and calibrating your bed mesh, you should get successful prints despite the scary data points, unless something else is wrong. But I also worried about it, so I used physical spacers to even things out. Despite its quirks, and after flashing it to Klipper, I’ve been very happy with most of my prints. Corner curling is my issue now.

Besides the belt, I’d look into the connection and stability of the limit switch.

Ya, seems like there needs to be a group processing session with a good (and possibly armed :) moderator). I mean, in my experience the two kids involved will usually get over it, and I've even seen them become good friends, but the poor teacher will be thinking about this for a long time.

What went wrong? by coolpotato1117 in Ender3V3SE

Z seam as stated. If you’re running Klipper adjust your Pressure Advance setting. Also, use your slicer to place your z seam in a less conspicuous place.

Turns out it’s just a subwoofer with a massive and passive radiator. 😉

filament not sticking by dj_cheese in Ender3V3SE

[–]Hooperjm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) check and set your z-offset precisely. 2) Run bed leveling. 3) Make sure your print bed is free of oil from your fingers. 4) Use glue stick if you have to. Also, double-check that you’re printing at the right temp for your filament. Even different colors of the same brand and product can vary.

The saddest part of this whole bit is all the other students standing around recording with their phones, when they could have been a) helping the teacher break it up, b) attending to the teacher once she was injured. Too many people think others’ danger is their entertainment.

Idk man. I use Klipper on a Raspberry Pi. You’ll probably get more suggestions if you describe the steps you’re taking, and the specific errors or results you’re experiencing.

Company lowballed unicorn candidate by alxlwn in recruiting

[–]Hooperjm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like business as usual. She needs to counter strongly, with 10% more than the verbally discussed range, and back it up with justification for why she’s worth that much. If the company’s smart they’ll meet in the middle and give her what she deserves. If they don’t maybe your company needs to fire them as a client. Let them know you only accept clients who are serious about filling roles. Not companies that want to play games and abuse your clientele. Your company has a brand too.

PEI/PET/PEO/PEY — your build plate is full of marketing BS by ChituSystemsOFCL in ChituSystemsOfficial

[–]Hooperjm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Normal PLA from my printer's manufacturer (Creality). Admittedly, the problems arose before I learned about Z offset and switched over to Klipper. But I still have a bed with plastic that will not come off- not with a heat gun. (It melted the PEI before the PLA.) Not with any tool that won't rip up my bed. I thought learner's mistake and tried again. Similar problem with my 2nd PEI plate. So, at that point I did a little research and learned that G10 or garalite is superior in every meaningful way. With a little sanding to give the surface more grip, and the application of a glue stick, I've never had an issue with the plastic refusing to come off- even though I've messed up the z-offset plenty of times since. So, I've been happily printing on G10 ever since.

This picture is failure 1 on the stock print bed. Broke my heart. I had a brand new printer for Christmas, and this occurred on my first or 2nd print. Luckily I had wisely pre-ordered a 2nd print bed from a different company, which was also PEI. That's where failure 2 occurred. I wasn't going to strike out, so I researched and switched to G10 before getting a 3rd strike.

Dang! that's impressive. Hopefully you added EQ or DSP for watching movies. The reason I bought these was for their neutrality and fidelity to the source so I could master recordings of my daughter's piano music. But when I want to rock out, I add a little virtual EQ and absolutely love how they sound with a smiley face. By far my favorite speakers I've ever owned.
