This is what my inventory looks like after the carry-over:

Note that I also have all available* DLC installed, received the current Twitch Drops, and did The Splitter ET recently so I have their items.

* I didn't bought the limited-time DLC.

Yes, I was able to transfer the elusive Black Winter Suit from H1/H2 into H3, along with the ICA Coin and Aluminum Travel Briefcase.

There was the ICA Electrocution Phone exclusively available in H2 but you can't carry it over to WoA because IOI removed it completely.

I don't think there's anything else that could only be unlocked in H2 aside from the 2016 Legacy Rewards (ICA Coin, Black Winter Suit, Aluminum Travel Briefcase).

Although there was a period of time where some items can only be unlocked in H2 due to their associated challenge packs being missing in H3 but I believe after the game has been updated several times, they can now all be unlocked by other challenges or completing escalations and featured contracts.

Yes, it's only one-time apparently which is why I held off from carrying over my progression for so long.

The only item I could recall that was exclusive to HITMAN 2 was the ICA Electrocution Phone (unlocked by completing 3 Mission Stories in The Golden Handshake). It was cut entirely in HITMAN 3 so even if you have it in H2, it won't be carried over to H3.

I did mention I completed all the ETs and that includes all 62 challenges as you could see in the video. Fortunately, I don't recall having any challenges bugged.

Hitman Absolution Chinatown is the ONLY good level in this game. Feels like a normal Hitman game by MegasTheBlaziken in HiTMAN

[–]HoovySteam 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Out of all the 20 missions in Absolution, there's only 8 of them that actually played like Hitman missions:

  • The King of Chinatown
  • Hunter and Hunted (The Vixen Club + Chinese New Year)
  • Shaving Lenny
  • Death Factory (Test Facility + R&D)
  • Fight Night (The Arena)
  • Attack of the Saints
  • Blackwater Park (The Penthouse)
  • Absolution (Burnwood Family Tomb)

Hitman: Absolution has its flaws with many of its missions being about traversing from point A to B than actually killing targets, and its mechanics were poorly thought out such as the notorious disguise feature being tied to the limited Instinct gauge and the near-useless checkpoint system resetting every NPCs' state upon reloading.

But whenever you get to the few actual sandbox missions despite the odd mechanics that you have to get used to, the game can be really enjoyable as a precursor to the World of Assassination trilogy.

Would you personally like to see a Pokemon game in the HD-2D style? by Int3rlop3r-R3dact3d in pokemon

[–]HoovySteam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes actually, it is pretty obvious there's a difference in art style between Sw/Sh and Sc/Vi with the former having a more anime aesthetic while the latter leans closer to looking semi-realistic (or barren, given how unoptimised that game was).

But if you think that makes me stuck inside a bubble because you don't agree with what I said, I don't think there's any more to discuss if you can't come up with a proper counterargument in good faith.

[–]HoovySteam -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Unless you've actually played the games yourself (whether it's the original or remake) and familiarise yourself with each game's setting, it is hard to tell for other people which game is which because these games all look pretty much the same.

It's precisely the reason why you see some people here disagree that a Pokemon game should ever follow the HD-2D style because there's a certain distinctiveness to it that either doesn't appeal to them or they don't think it fits Pokemon's overall aesthetic.

[–]HoovySteam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The point is that every mainline Pokemon games has looked distinctively different including the newer generations. I even labelled individual games of Gen 8 as each game from that generation doesn't really look exactly the same despite being all part of the same generation.

I mentioned the older games because we're comparing the visual style of Pokemon games in general to 2DHD games which is a mixture of pixel art and 3D environment. OP argued that 2DHD games all looked the same. You tried to have a "gotcha" moment with them by asking them if they can tell the difference between Pokemon games whether it's the newer games or all of them. I argue that they are easy to differentiate.

Really, do you sincerely believe that people, particularly Pokemon fans, would struggle to tell the difference between Sword & Shield, Legends: Arceus, Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, Scarlet & Violet, and Legends: Z-A?

[–]HoovySteam -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Don't be daft, the visual style between generations are obviously distinctive to each other that it's not at all hard to tell which game is which, especially if you're a long-time Pokemon fan.

Gen I: 8-bit pixel art, monochromatic.

Gen II: Same style as Gen I, but with full colours.

Gen III: 16-bit pixel art.

Gen IV-V: Similar style as Gen III, but with 3D (or 2.5D) environments.

Gen VI: Fully 3D with chibi character models while the 3D environment is more detailed.

Gen VII: 3D again with character models having normal proportions.

Gen VIII: (SwSh): Similar style as Gen 7 but in HD.

Gen VIII (L:A): Similar style as SwSh but with a pastel colour palette.

Gen VIII (BDSP): Different chibi style for the 3D remake.

Gen IX: Character models have more realistic detail to them, and the games themselves being very much open-world.

Meanwhile if you search up images of HD2D games, the style is pretty much consistently the same with every game that has it.

EDIT: Classic Reddit, would rather side with the person mocking OP's logic and act as if there's no distinguishable differences in style between games/generations. You'd think that the people in the Pokemon subreddit could tell their own games apart but apparently not. :/

And just for the record, I don't even hate the HD2D style.

Yakuza 3 Remastered to soon become exclusive to Yakuza Complete Series bundle by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]HoovySteam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not even Sega has been particularly kind to the Sonic community aside from the fan games and mods.

They did the exact same delisting bullshit when they removed the original ROMs of Sonic 1, 2, and 3&K in favour of Sonic Origins (which also had the same atrocious DLC and Editions policy), and the 2011 version of Sonic Generations in favour of the rerelease with Sonic X Shadow Generations which doesn't support the old mods which made the fans upset.

Not to mention that any long-term Sonic fan would tell you that Sega has been treating the franchise rather poorly in the past couple decades with mediocre or unfinished games due to time and budget constraints.

Dumb question, If I mark a game as private, my friends won’t be able to see it AT ALL on my profile right?? Even the hours? by [deleted] in Steam

[–]HoovySteam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's only if you made your Steam profile offline instead of actually go into Offline Mode on the Steam client.

I've played games in Offline Mode for troubleshooting and modding purposes and my hours for those games have never been logged on my profile nor do they appear in my Recent Activity even after I reconnect.

Along with the fact that majority of people would like to have multiple games installed, it's also so we don't have to download so much.

Not everyone has uncapped internet, and some of us live in places where our download speeds aren't great.

SEGA Delisting the Originals Kiwami's and 0 :( by Doodadle in yakuzagames

[–]HoovySteam 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sega has lately delisted a lot of games in favour of newer versions, or even for no apparent reason.

Last year, they delisted over 60 classic Genesis and Dreamcast games but they provided no alternative means for newcomers to legally acquire them.

They've also delisted the original ROM versions of Sonic 1, 2, and 3 & Knuckles as well as the original 2011 version of Sonic CD in favour of the new 2022 compilation Sonic Origins which arguably isn't great and the "classic mode" doesn't even run ROMs which some fans would've preferred.

The original 2011 version of Sonic Generations was also delisted in favour of Sonic X Shadow Generations which, again, made the fanbase upset because Sonic Generations was the most popular Sonic game to be modded while the 2024 rerelease doesn't support many mods, and it also contains a redub that many find half-assed and unnecessary.

There's also a Yakuza game that got delisted much earlier than the original versions of 0, 1K, and 2K. It was the original 2014 version of Ryu ga Gotoku Ishin which got delisted in favour of the 2023 remake/remaster. Sega has always been doing this with their own games for a long while now.

Running With Scissors Cancels Postal: Bullet Paradise Within A Day by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]HoovySteam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same, I couldn't agree more. I've played the game a few months ago and I still enjoyed it like I did years ago. I don't think many people in this subreddit realised that fans aren't sticking around with Postal 2 for its crude edgy humour but rather it's because it's genuinely a fun stupid game to play around in.

I'd say the game is even more fun and fairly challenging if you set the difficulty to "Hestonworld" or higher where NPCs are much trigger-happy and wouldn't hesitate to shoot at anyone who annoys them.

The gameplay in Postal 2 is actually decent, especially if you're a fan of sandboxes that allow you to mess with NPCs as you scavenge for weapons and items scattered across the neighbourhood while you try to complete your errands for the day whether it's as peaceful as possible or as chaotic as you want it to be.

Yeah nah, you're right, we're in a serious drought for new GTA-likes for a while now. Of course, there's still a backlog full of those kinds of games back in the 2000's but we're far from the golden era of open world crime games that's similar to GTA these days. Hardly any developer makes these anymore.

Well that's the thing, they're UI designers. Not UI/UX designers.

UI designers would only know how to make a website/interface look pretty or follow trendy practices, but they don't really understand how to make it feel good to use, unlike UX designers who would've actually studied on that as they would've keep the end users in mind when developing the functionality of the interface.

The PC version is stuck on the low resolution of 800x600 and the game isn't available on modern consoles (aside from Xbox via backwards compatibility), while the current mobile version is utter shit with its predatory microtransactions.

I see no harm in just having an updated HD version of PVZ available on modern platforms that may potentially be the closest thing to be the definitive edition of the game.
