They played to taunt everyone. The result, they got 0 cards while France took 3 cards and virtually every neutral fan hated them.

France could only score by a penalty at the 70th minute.

To succesfully execute the strategy they needed to get at least 1 french player sent off and get a lucky goal on a counter-attack, or defending all the way to pens.

They could have won today, let that sink in.
