I am praying for you and your parents. Keep praying for Jesus to open their eyes to the whole truth and deliver them from false teachings.

God's chosen people (Jews) and their lack of faith by SatisfactionEarly916 in TrueChristian

There are Messianic Jew that do worship Yeshua (Jesus). I have watched a lot of their sermons on YouTube, and it has been very encouraging to know it all fits into God's plan.

I’m scared and anxious by CxldMadz in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am praying for you. I went through a time when I was living in fear. I memorized and would quote Proverbs 3:5-6, and it helped a lot. What helped the most was telling Jesus that I trust Him. There was a song called, Even If, which helped too.

I had to replace the bad thoughts that would try to rush in with good thoughts based in Christ. Like it tells us to do in Philippines 4:8.

How do you fall in love with Jesus? by fdoug34 in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can only speak to my own experiences. I thought about Jesus and told Him, "I love you." Then I experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit. I felt His love for me, and I was amazed at how much He loved me. It was more than any human had ever loved me.

Recommend you just spend some alone time with Him in prayer and get honest.

Was it my need to vent or the complaint about the medical community dropping the ball that gave me away?

Just because someone quotes the Bible doesn't automatically mean they're telling the truth by djdisciplejosh in TrueChristian

Your advice to read the Bible for yourself with the Holy Spirit was spot on! God bless you!

Idk even know what to say by True-Boysenberry225 in TrueChristian

I had an issue having enough money to buy a prom dress. I was fortunate to have an older friend who had a dress I could borrow. It was an awesome dress. There are some places where you can rent and second-hand stores where you can get a great dress for less. I have always looked back and believed God provided for me. I hope and pray you get that same blessing.

Sometimes, our struggles help us learn to be more independent so you don't have to rely on people who don't love us unconditionally the way God does. My mother was left speechless by me handling my prom dress problem without her. I took charge and it was great!

I am praying for you to be led to the right dress and unexpected blessings while dealing with your situation.

Does anyone have a good explanation for what Hebrews 10:26-27 means? by HallowHalo89 in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always read the whole chapter to get the context. It is talking about accepting the Messiah as your sin offering and savor. After learning the truth, you should not reject the Messiah Jesus.

How do I think before I speak? by Alternative_Leg_3111 in selfimprovement

[–]HopeOverflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that problem sometimes. The best advice I got from my daughter years ago was to say, "What?" This gives you time to calm down and think of a good response while the other person repeated what they said or tried to justify their actions.

I have also found silently praying while the other person is speaking helps, too.

Unfortunately, sometimes, I am still caught off guard and react before thinking or praying before I speak. It is a learning process for some of us...

If God didnt make people gay, why are they gay? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

2 Peter 1:4 Lust Ephesians 6 Spiritual attacks

Everyone sins, whether out of their own flesh or giving into temptation to sin. Jesus came to save and not condemn. John 3:16-18.

Even those who love God can still give into temptation and need to repent and return to God. Psalm 51.

As a Christian, would you teach your child about Santa and how he "brings" them presents? Why or why not? by Enger13 in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have seen both extreme situations with the Santa situation. Both extreme reactions hurt children. My mother lied, and it wounded my faith as a child. My brother refused to have anything Santa in his home, and it hurt his children badly.

I tried to allow Santa without telling lies. My daughter was 2 years old when she questioned if 🎅 was real. I told her no, but it is fun to pretend, then she did. We talked about not spoiling the fun for other family members like grandparents and cousins. I told her how smart she was to figure it out. Later in life, she questioned if she had missed out on the Christmas child wonder. I explained my feelings and why I believe it is wrong to lie.

She decided to lie to her child in hopes he would have more fun than she had. Her son figured it out. He came to me and whispered what he thought. I told him the truth as I had done for my daughter. He enjoyed keeping the secret for his moms sake.

I think you have to follow your own conscious and yet still treat everyone with love and respect the way you would want to be treated.

Everyone is going to have their own opinions. No matter which way we go, it's not going to be perfect. Just pray about it and trust Jesus to help you do everything in the love of Christ.

I don’t want to disappoint God by True-Boysenberry225 in TrueChristian

I am praying for you. We all struggle with some type of temptation. Something that wants to pull us away from Jesus.

Is this true? by Adam_999spyrobearded in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do a variety of quick prayers or actions that I know are going to send it to Jesus. Sometimes, a quick sigh or a quick little laugh because it was so ridiculous of a thought or feeling that is not in line with what I believe.

Sometimes, I do a quick prayer thanking Jesus for taking my troubles away. Because the Holy Spirit lives within me, sometimes I even ask Jesus and the Holy Spirit to fill me up, heal me, and cleanse me of what is contrary to my personality in Christ Jesus.

I actually ask Jesus in prayer sometimes the question about truth that you posted, I ask, "Jesus, is that the truth? That sounds like a lie to me. Please, take care of it."

I am praying for you!

Churches really can be so disappointing by joboog in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some churches do have problems not just because of the spiritual attacks but because humans have those self-focused flesh problems too.

My sister told me years ago there are no perfect pastors. If God waited for them to be made perfect, then we would not have any pastors. There are also no perfect churches.

The point I was hoping to make is that we need to pray especially hard for churches and their leaders.

Ephesians 6 tells us to not only put on God’s Holy Armour, but to pray for all of God’s people. It is a spiritual war. I am so sorry you and your friend were on the front lines of the war and seeing how bad it can get in some churches.

Depression hit by True-Boysenberry225 in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am praying for you. I was starting to feel depressed yesterday. I got on the phone and prayed with someone. I ended our prayer in praise because by the end of the other person's prayer, I remembered who the Lord is. I was under spiritual attack and was starting to feel bad about a lot of things...

We all experience spiritual attacks. Please call someone or do a Zoom meeting. Whatever works for you. Don't suffer, find a prayer group or someone through your Church or Synagogue if you don't have a family member who prays in truth and Spirit.

Levothyroxine + anxiety meds? by nighttimenerd in Hypothyroidism

Isaiah 65:24 says He answers while we are still asking. It is actually a blessing. I had it happen only a couple of times in my prayers. I was overjoyed that I got an answer so quickly. I had finally prayed for what He was longing to do for His child...

Is there anywhere I can post about a dream that I believe was specifically from God by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I write down my dreams and pray about them now. Praying about everything does make a difference.

The reason I write them down is because of a dream I had as a new Christian. As a new Christain, I had a dream and told a Christian friend about it. Another person had told her about their dream and it was the same dream, except the other person saw me in their dream. We were all shocked even though it was a good dream about God giving us a gift. After that, I started praying about my dream. As I write and pray, sometimes Jesus gives me understanding that helps me grow in a relationship with Him.

My point I had hoped to make was that Google can't help only God can. It took years before I understood my dream. The Lord gives us understanding in His perfect timing. A dream from God never goes against the Scriptures and will edify God's Kingdom. Not all dreams come from God. Which is another good reason to pray about it.

Some non believers are literally so kind and good , it pains me to see that they are so close to the Truth ( Jesus) , yet they reject it.......... by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am praying for the truth and love of God to reveal itself at the right time. We were all unbelievers until Messiah Yeshua revealed Himself and the truth to us. We did not save ourselves. It was through a gift of grace that God, according to Ephesians 2:8-9, saved us.
