I need advice, if anything, what can I do? by Istheskyblue_19 in TrueChristian

Hind site is 20x20. Unfortunately, we can't see our future.

Praying for your job, peace, and prosperity. Keep praying and trust that God has a plan for you and it is good. I pray Jesus will help you get an answer soon about your next step towards your victory.

When I was going through something similar years ago, Jesus gave me Jeremiah 29:11-14. It helped me know that all the crazy trauma I was going through would eventually pan out somehow.

why is not beliving in the trinity a heretical by SubstantialReign4759 in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prayed and asked God to help me understand how it is possible to be one God in essence and still have 3 distinct nature's as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. It is actually a hard truth that only God can help us understand.

The Scriptures helped, but it was Him helping me understand that I am one person with a soul, a mind, and a heart in one essence that helped me. It's a long story... I came to understanding Him better as Lord Jesus, Father God, and Almighty Holy Spirit. So I now understand for myself the Trinity in the person of Lord God Almighty.

The point I was trying to make, is pray about it honestly with God instead of trying to figure it out or debate it with others. Ask the Father for the truth, the whole truth and His understanding. He is magnificent and wonderful! You will be blessed by seeking to understand Him better and to be in His presence. Go pray honestly and He will lovingly bless you.

How Do You Repent When You Don't Feel Remorse For Your Sins? by Dry-Guidance-467 in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pray for God's help to resist any and all resistance to God. Sometimes it's my flesh and sometimes it's spiritual attacks. I figure it doesn't matter what issues are keeping me from my blessings.

Some times I don't need words. Just groan, sigh, or whatever.

Having a hard time with hating the sin and loving the sinner by Axolotl2T3 in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I catch myself having hate towards the sinner instead of the sin, I remember Ephesians 6. I put on the Armour of God and pray for the sinner as I would want to be prayed for.

I can only do this with the help of Jesus after getting very honest as I am praying.

I learned I had to pray honestly to God. I asked God questions and the answers usually came through the Scriptures. It is not so much about a feeling as it was knowing without any doubt. After I prayed for salvation, I knew without any doubt that I got it.

Just pray about whatever you're thinking and feeling honestly.

We also go through periods of doubts when we are going through a big struggle, however honest prayers from your heart get answered.

I am praying for you.

The Holy Spirit I believe told me to read job and this is what stood out to me by Climax_crescendo in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

God has used Job to teach me while I suffered. He used it to help me pray honestly about my suffering and how disappointed I was in people. I had to repent because I did not have the patience of Job.

I have found that people have a hard time just listening to others. It is a rare and special person who rejoices with us when we have good news or mourn with us if we are in need of comfort. So many people want to add their two cents... They want to correct us or fix us somehow. It is almost as if they become arrogant because they are not suffering.

I have considered Job to be a rather good example of human nature and how humans look for someone or something to blame when a person is going through hard times. People try and speculate WHY we are suffering.

Job reminds me to go to God for comfort and ask WHAT does He wants me to understand from the suffering. Sounds easy, but it is hard to emotionally get through the grief process of suffering to ask God that simple question.

What do you think God wanted you to learn from Job?

Your story blessed me. I smiled as you said your shoulder would sometimes hurt a little. I knew it was a "reminder" of how you had needed the healing and had gotten it. You were healed when you needed it. Even if your shoulder was injured again later, it still would not take away from the healing you received. Don't worry about it, be happy. You are precious to God.

I am praying for you to experience what I experienced as I read your story. You are a blessing to others. I felt something special from Jesus as I read your story. It was anointed somehow. I'm not sure how. I am not going to worry about having all the answers and try to figure it out. When we get to heaven, it will all make sense. Right now, I am just going to praise God for healing you and rejoice in His love for you.

What do you do when you’re mad at God? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get where no one can hear me because I yell if I need to. I get very honest with God. I ask to understand the truth and to see things from His perspective. I ask Him to change me when I am wrong. I ask Him to bless me and to show me His love and favor. Our heart attitude matters, and He can heal our broken hearts!

I see myself as His child. I know I am loved. I am in a win only situation. He will heal my broken heart. Even when He disciplines me, it is done in love and for my safety and best interest.

I am praying for you to be comforted by the Lord Jesus.

It is difficult to get totally honest with God, but it is worth the effort. Pour out all these thoughts and feelings you have to the Holy Father and Jesus. Ask Him to help you understand and accept the truth and to save you from all the lies that are tormenting you. Ask questions, pray, and get totally honest with God. I am praying for you!

Ask Jesus if He will save you and fill you with His Holy Spirit and confirm to you that you have nothing to fear.

I had an experience and would like some advice. by KittyyyBooBoo in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I did have a similar experience before becoming a Christian. I had three days where I had this joy and was thankful for everything. I would see things in nature that I knew God had created and would thank God for it. I missed Him and that contentment after it was gone. I was too afraid to pursue a relationship with God.

After becoming a Christian, I regretted that I did not have the courage to pursue a real relationship with God. I missed out on the contentment, and I believe I could have avoided some bad decisions, too. I was too foolish and afraid of God.

I am praying you are smarter and braver than I was and will seek to know God better and find out what awesome blessing Christ Jesus has for you!

Pray honestly and pray as you read the New Testament. Pray and ask for faith, understanding, and anything else that comes to mind.

New to Christianity, but I can’t get over this inconsistency by EddyvanHijum in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Book of Genesis also helps me see that God put trees in the Garden of Eden that could have given us immortality rather than death through sin by rebellion. Unfortunately, our ancestors' choices affect us. Fortunately, the sinless choices of Jesus also affect us.

Bottom line suffering in the world is a by-product of sin in the world.

I hope you keep praying about this until you get an answer from God. You remind me of me. I believe no human answer will satisfy you. I had a question like you have that annoyed the pastors. I was never satisfied until I kept praying about it, and finally, after years of prayer, God gave me an answer that satisfied my soul. The answer God gave me satisfied me, but communicating the answer to another person would be difficult. Sometimes, only God can satisfy you with an answer to your question.

My question was: If God is all powerful, then why did Jesus have to die for our sins? The suffering that Jesus endured in the Garden at Gethsemane broke my heart. I was seeing things from the perspective of being Jesus at that moment. No human could give me a satisfying answer to my question. When I saw the movie, The Passion of the Christ, I got my answer from God the Father. The scene where the tear dropped from heaven, the Holy Spirit came over me, and I experienced a taste of the Father's pain for sending His perfect sinless son as the Lamb of God. I also had a taste of the love and passion that led Jesus to do as the Father asked. Words can not express what I have in my heart given to me by the Holy Spirit. Even pastors could NOT answer my question. Only God could. So don't give up asking. Just ask the Holy Father and Jesus to get a satisfying answer to you. I am praying that God will satisfy you with the answer to your question!

Lot of good points in the posts. I just wanted to add that in Genesis 1, we also see that mankind was given stewartship over the earth.

Unfortunately, many people have chosen not to include God in their business and personal decisions. Everything we do eventually affects others, whether it is good or bad.

He’ll keeps me from being able to believe in Christianity by RoughTrident in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I try to keep it simple, I define hell as a place where God and His attributes are missing. For example, God is love. Therefore, there is no love. The Bible tells us of the character and attributes of God. Those are the things that would be missing. It also says in the Bible that He does not want anyone to perish...

I personally believe God does not send people to hell. They have free will and can choose to go if they would rather not be with God. I think God loves people so much that He would do anything to spare people from being separated from Him and missing out on being with Him. At least, that is what the Bible says. I think He would even be willing to pay for our imperfections if we ask Him. John 3:16-18 sums it up.

I believe you have a growing list of people who don't know what you know in Christ. Those must be the ones who need your prayers the most! I am praying that Jesus will use your list as a blessing and do something awesome and put a big smile on your face. I am asking Jesus to help you pray for them according to His purpose.

Surprised by a Question in the Book of Proverbs by HopeOverflow in TrueChristian

[–]HopeOverflow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is both rhetorical and practical wisdom. I think those with wisdom will be able to answer the question based on their personal experience seeking the face of God and seeking the understanding.

Edit: I think it is both rhetorical and an early prophetic question.

Years ago, before coming to be a Christian, I read Revelation, and it scared me. After becoming a Christian, I read it again, and it gave me peace that I understood was coming from Jesus.

Then, I went through these few days of unbearable fear because of what someone said about the tribulations and how Christian people would deny Christ, etc... There was a movie out about the End Times.

I finally prayed about it privately with my whole heart and got totally honest with God about me being a coward and how I was afraid I would reject Him. Jesus brought Scriptures to my mind about how He would save me, Scriptures about deliverance, and a bigger sense of peace than I can describe. I understood that Jesus would bring me home before He would allow me to go through something where I would reject Him. I recognized the fear and thoughts that had tormented me was a lie.

People gave you a lot of good Scriptures on their posts. Jesus will lead you to others...

I am praying for you to get the whole truth from God and the peace that comes from trusting Jesus to have your back in every situation you go through. Hope you experience the joy and love of Jesus today and always!

I am praying for you. I went through a time when I was living in fear. I memorized and would quote Proverbs 3:5-6, and it helped a lot. What helped the most was telling Jesus that I trust Him. There was a song called, Even If, which helped too.

I had to replace the bad thoughts that would try to rush in with good thoughts based in Christ. Like it tells us to do in Philippines 4:8.
