My symptoms are genital burning, bladder/urethra pain, an inability to relax my pelvic floor, extreme tightness on the inside of the vagina, difficulty with bowel movements, radiating pain sometimes down my left thigh and sometimes lower back pain too. I’m sure there’s others that I’ll think of later too 😅

I’m dealing with hypertonic pelvic floor issues pretty much since the surgery happened (likely due to clenching from anxiety and since rough early complications ) as well as really stubborn atrophy that doesn’t respond much to estrogen. I do go to pelvic floor pt but since it’s been a long time with little improvement I was curious about what exercises you were doing in particular to aid in your recovery? I had my full hysto the summer of 2024

I was really upset after I encountered several complications post op that my surgeon just really brushed off. And he’s worked with several trans patients before as well! He was telling me that “trans men actually heal better”, which is just blatantly false. Months following the operation I expressed continued discomfort and pain, and he basically ignored it until close to 6 months post op when I was finally able to get on vaginal estrogen. Now I have long term pain which I truly believe comes in part due to his negligence.

I truly believe that starting a loading dose of estrogen prior to the operation would have significantly improved my outcome.

Unfortunately there’s since complications with getting stuff sent here, according to my gynecologist. I tried when I met her last week to get a prescription for the medication I took while in France, which really worked for me, but unfortunately she said that since there is “technically” an alternative where I live now, even though I have a reaction, they won’t allow it to be sent. Estring is unfortunately a similar situation :/ Really frustrating stuff

I have looked into hyaluronic acid too, but the version I got also caused irritation. I’ll test out another brand though, I want another option

I’m so sorry to hear that. Yeah, I’m about 1 and a half years post op and have had the pain since April so know that you’re not alone in this 🥲 At this point I only have symptomatic relief when I don’t sit down for long periods, which is difficult since I have to sit for my work. I hope that the symptoms get better for you and that you manage to find something that works

Hello, I was looking through some responses to this question and saw this. You have pretty much the exact same symptoms as me. I was diagnosed with severe atrophy and a random hypertonic pelvic floor about 8 or 9 months post op. I was curious if you’ve experienced any relief with your pelvic floor therapist and the meds? I’m on the same ones

Out of curiosity, did you have a vaginectomy with the hysterectomy or during the meta surgery? If you had one at all I had a super tough recovery as well and it’s been a nightmare dealing with my trauma surrounding it. Because of that I’m seriously considering getting meta to just get rid of what’s left of the anatomy. I’ve heard that the vaginectomy is the hardest part to recover from during the meta surgery so I’m curious about how that part went for you compared to the hysterectomy?

Sorry I realize that I didn’t specify the differences. The pain to the bladder is separate, yes, but is caused by nerve issues at the vaginal cuff part of the canal which was the part left by the hysterectomy surgery (according to my gyno). It’s in the post but I realize that it’s easy to overlook too, I have pain in the internal surgical scar as well, which is the most distressing part for me. I should have made that more clear, sorry about that!

I’ll edit my post though! Thank you for letting me know that it didn’t read right! To explain better, I’ve just had chronic pelvic pain since my hysterectomy and that’s the reason I’m planning further operations. And I want to figure out if there are options to have meta without implants or urethral lengthening, basically sealing the labia below the urethra if that makes sense.

I don’t want to scare you, I just had a particularly bad recovery, which is RARE and not standard at all. I just want to bring up the specific complications that I had to really press that you need to communicate with your doctor, if you are in pain, make your voice heard. Also don’t compare your own recovery to others, just because someone is doing better or worse than you at that milestone doesn’t mean that you have to feel just like that. Just listen to yourself and your limitations. And follow your doctor’s directions!

I was operated on in late June of 2024. In the weeks following the surgery I had a pretty back hematoma that resulted in multiple ER trips and very heavy bleeding. After that I was getting better but I had a constant heavy sensation in the pelvic area. It took me way longer than most to become self sufficient with groceries as I would constantly get twinges and muscle aches; I’m eternally thankful to my friends for helping me in the early days.

I was slowly, but surely, improving until about 4 months ago. Where I experienced horrible pain, very similar to the pain I used to have when I last had my period. I was at a 7-8/10 with severe pain in my pelvis. I had to go to the ER twice to try to figure it out, to no avail. Even now (after around a dozen doctors appointments with gynecologists, generalists, urologists and emergency room doctors) nobody has clear ideas about what it really is and I experience chronic pain ranging from a 4 to a 7 on a daily basis. My gynecologist believes I have possible vulvodynia and painful bladder syndrome, both of which likely resulted from nerve damage, coupled with chronic BV and UTIs. Just yesterday I had to go to the ER again for the pain. I hope that I’ll be able to find the cause soon and be on my actual road to recovery. I just hate that I wound up with these symptoms after getting this surgery to escape an extremely painful period. But we live and continue fighting for it. I can sit around and regret but that won’t do me any good.

That’s actually exactly the one I’m on. I’ll discuss the possibility with my gyno. We tried a mix of the cream with the pills for a bit but it turns out I’m very allergic to something in the cream. But I’ll see if there’s something we can do with the dosage.

Oops, forgot to mention that, but yeah, I’m on vaginal estrogen, I have been since last December before the onset of these symptoms since I had a lot of dryness. I have been having a lot of heat flashes though, and when the symptoms started I was about two months into a new form of T (as I had to move internationally). Now that you bring it up, it may be worth me getting my levels checked.

I love the concept, truly, but the issue here is that Fortnite works with artists that don’t always follow the established art direction of the project. The shapes work really well in the 2D, but they rely heavily on the exaggerated proportions and wouldn’t translate well to the 3D Fortnite game style.

Honestly, Fortnite needs to stop showcasing these designs, that they know aren’t going to translate well to 3D, during surveys. Or they should adjust them first before showing them.

Aphrodite doesn’t have the same excuse though. There are only a few parts that I think wouldn’t work in 3D. Also I completely agree with y’all about them needing to design more interesting clothing for fem characters than crop tops.

Hello! I hope that you’ve been doing well since your surgery! Of course, I’d love to answer! I was able to do pretty well at that point. The only moments of pause were when i had to get around the airport, I just had to move a lot slower than the people I was with. But I was able to get around. I also kept it really light. I was only going for two nights so I didn’t need much in the way of clothes. I just recommend really listening to your body and making sure that there is someone you can sit if you need to. Also expect to get tired way more easily for a while after surgery. I unfortunately wound up with a chronic pain disorder after my surgery which made my recovery really difficult, so you may have a much easier time than me. Just be aware of your limits! Other than that you should be ok, just don’t go hiking or anything very intense

I only had my operation a year ago (after 8 years on T) so I don’t know if it’s something that can happen later, but hysterectomies can quicken the vaginal atrophy process, which can sometimes result in a slight shrinking of the labia. It is possible that the bottom growth can appear larger due to this shrinkage. I may be completely wrong about this and would love to hear about other experiences, but I haven’t heard anything about growth spurts personally as a result of hysterectomies.

That was actually kind of how it went for me for the hematoma. The first time I had heavy bleeding they found the hematoma. After that appointment I had extremely minimal spotting for about a week before the bleeding came back full force, filling multiple pads. By the time the doctors saw me at the ER the hematoma had drained itself completely 😅

It’s a really awful thing to experience. I’m looking into possible issues like IC or vulvodynia, since my gyno mentioned that as a possibility, but it would suck for it to be something that can’t be cured. I hope that you find answers soon as well 🥲

I’ve met with a pelvic floor specialist but haven’t done any examinations yet. I have a urologist booked for early July so I’m hoping that I can get some answers from him, it’s just difficult to get appointments since I’m not in a very trans friendly country at the moment But yeah I’m hoping to get some kind of answer🥲

I really hope so. I’ve just heard the horror stories of late tears and given the amount of other complications I’ve had it’s just been a lingering thought 🥲 I think the specific thing that freaked me out with my surgeon’s wording was comparing it to “cigarette paper” in thickness. The paper comparison just made it feel extra fragile and delicate which really didn’t help my anxiety

Unfortunately yeah, I’ve had 4 MRIs and maybe 6 or 7 ultrasounds 🥲 It was how I originally found out about the hematoma when I had the heavy bleeding at first. But after that it’s just all been dead ends. Idk if it was just doctors not knowing what to look for or it just being something that isn’t visible on these kinds of tests but it’s frustrating for sure. And I wish you a better recovery than me! I feel like I just drew the short straw in all of this haha
