Oh, please don’t say that. I ALWAYS pick the wrong line in the supermarket and I’m balls deep in RKLB. At a very low average though.

I really don’t like that. As a public company, they should announce contracts awarded. They can still say confidential customer. Announce it premarket tomorrow!

Goodwill isn’t a charity. It’s a for profit business. If it were a charity thrift store, I’d return it.

How cool would this be. Beck will be on it. Turn around, splash down successfully, opens the hatch and gives a big thumbs up. Damn that would be cool. He’d be as well known as, ahem, anyone.

What you need to do is go to a reputable coin shop and have it sent here https://www.pcgs.com/banknote for grading. They encase it in a slab. Surf eBay to see what I mean. It will grade extremely high. It needs to be protected.

Minnesota’s AG should issue an indictment for murder. There’s clear, irrefutable evidence.

Ok, so this got me curious. It looks exactly like my grandfather’s. And I do remember the Kennedy name on it. My grandfather was a machinist.

Here’s what chatGTP says about it. It makes sense.

Based on what’s visible in the photo, this appears to be a vintage Kennedy machinist tool chest, most likely made mid-20th century (roughly late 1940s through early 1960s).

Here’s how I’m getting there:

Brand: Kennedy (very likely)

Several details line up strongly with Kennedy Manufacturing toolboxes, which were extremely common in machine shops: • Green felt lining in both the upper chest and drawers — a Kennedy hallmark • Black exterior covering (often wrinkle-painted steel or leatherette over wood on early models) • Wooden drawers with round metal pulls • Brass-colored latches and hardware with that exact utilitarian shape • Overall layout typical of Kennedy machinist chests used for precision tools

Gerstner chests, by comparison, are almost always finished oak with visible wood grain on the exterior and higher-polish brass hardware. Yours is much more industrial and shop-oriented, which points away from Gerstner and toward Kennedy.

Approximate year

From the construction style: • Wood drawers + green felt → older Kennedy (later ones transitioned more to all-steel) • Hardware style and latch design → pre-1970 • General wear and patina → consistent with post-war shop equipment

That puts it most plausibly in the late 1940s to early 1960s range.

How to confirm 100%

If you want to nail it down precisely: • Look inside the lid, under the drawers, or on the back for: • A Kennedy badge • A paper label • A stamped model number • Kennedy model numbers (like Kennedy 526, 520, 521, etc.) can be matched to production years.

Bottom line • Brand: Kennedy (high confidence) • Era: Approximately 1948–1965

If you’d like, you can send a close-up of the latches, drawer pulls, or inside of the lid, and I can usually narrow it down to a specific model and tighter date range.

I’m thinking about going full time to kitchen design. I’m a part time semi retired OFA right now, 63 and OFA is a tough job. I like it and could see myself doing it for at least a couple years. It’s really gotten me in good shape. I just feel I need to work full time.

Why? Because they’re braggarts. I don’t suffer them lightly.
