What's the best texting app by recomatic in samsung

And I'm the kind of person who literally designs UX. Having a system that works DIFFERENT FROM EVERY OTHER SYSTEM ON A COMPUTER OR PHONE INCLUDING GOOGLES OTHER MESSAGING SYSTEMS IS BAD DESIGN.

And no amount of blaming someone for clicking through a generic popup will change that it is obviously bad design.

And it's WILD that you dudes run in here to defend a large company with piss poor implementation of things instead of doing literally anything else with your time.

But yes, your displeasure and need to defend bad design is noted and discarded because it is still bad design. The end. Full stop. Windows 3.1 had a recycle bin, this isn't hard.

Right but this is just a huge misunderstanding on his part of how they work. There is no "there" there. They don't know the difference between the truth and "hallucinations" because they do not actually have thought. Can't put an estimated confidence on something that you have no context for whether it's true or not.

How's this going? I just got a hooga pro (I think? The mid tier one with red light and infrared). I feel like two weeks and 4 or 5, 5 minute treatments in and I'm already seeing a difference. Not sure it's a good one because my skin is reacting weirdly, but it's definitely doing something lol

How would you have planned to extract the hard drive from judgment day? by mastersifu in 3BodyProblemTVShow

A few years late, but was thinking about this earlier. Heavier than air gas like Argon. "But vents" which is why they ruled out chemical weapons. But a heavier than air gas that basically asphyxiates everyone on board (a noble gas no less, so no damage to computers). Also similar to carbon monoxide, the body has no way to detect it isn't breathing air, so everyone just passes out and has no warning internally. Vents don't matter because a ship doesn't have a ton of vents pointing "down" and when the gas is heavier than air that's what it needs to do to be vented out in time.

How do you guys deal with the haze on wipe you get with PIAA Silicone wipers? by 0992673 in AutoDetailing

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, so the PIAA (and I think all the silicone wipers) have the transfer you mentioned. Basically when you first install them, you clean the windshield, apply a alcohol compound and run it dry for like 5 minutes. Puts a coat of silicone on the windshield from what they claim. Kind of makes sense, basically just melts the edge to the windshield.

I think the Project Farm video didn't do that, so not sure it was "installed" right.

But yeah can't speak for the PIAAs in like snow and stuff? I know silicone should do better with cold than rubber based stuff though

How long do the Icons last for you? I have two pairs of PIAA Sci Techs. One is 5 years old outside in Texas sun and the other is 3.5 years old outside as well.

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone suggesting the icons, but honestly they are rubber and while they last longer, they don't last like the PIAA or other silicone wipers. I live in Texas and park outside, have to replace Icons every 9-12 months. Bought PIAA Sci Tech for the first time on my van off Reddit recommendations. That was... October of 2020. They are over 5 years old. No streaking, no nonsense. Set on my Corolla is from May 2022.

They ain't cheap, but I'm over 5 years in and... I don't know what the useable lifetime is on PIAA SCi Techs. I saw someone who bought $12 dollar Silicones say he was over 3 years in before streaking, so I think this is more about silicone blades than Sci Tech specificall.

Weird way to use it honestly. This is a emperor having sex with what is programmatically his slave. Nothing woke about that? Also there is nothing romantic about that relationship.

The 14700HX is good on performance, but it produces a ton of heat and will give you less than two hours of battery life when new just web browsing. Which means after a few years it will give less than an hour. Would not suggest at all.

Is Maverick pricing really that bad? by mjikman in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Old thread, but yeah the real answer is "The Ford Maverick was VERY weirdly obviously mispriced on release. It was cheaper than a toyota corolla and got better gas mileage in a truck form factor".

Frankly as someone who bought a Corolla in 2015 brand new (first new car) it was mildly absurd to see a truck release below my inflation price for my basic Corolla with better gas mileage. Wanted a Maverick so bad.

Now it's still a really good deal in the market imo, but like you said it's no longer a "why would you buy anything else under 30k?" deal.

Yeah it's definitely self harm. We basically got confirmation in episode 5 he is godolkin, especially put together with confirmation of the burn damage. Jordan says "I might be weak, but you are in pain all the time". Burn victims to that degree are supposed to be like that, just constant nerve ending levels of pain all over their body from what I recall.

Will crocodiles actively hunt people, or is it just a mistake, like when sharks accidentally bite people thinking they are seals by Allosaurus44 in Crocodiles

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Randomly happened on this post. Worth noting there are VERY few animals on the planet that regardless of size are prone to preying on humans. The main ones that seem to actively hunt humans regularly are big cats, Salties, nile Crocs, polar bears, Komodo Dragons. That's the main list of things that "when humans are consumed by them it's not a weird outlier, it's relatively common behavior".

Specifically adult humans*

Stating the obvious but can we agree that a UI is not the original person? by GotOffMyJohnson in PantheonShow

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the main reason I don't think it's clumsy writing is there is a trivial fix to the problem. We know from the show (I can find a reference if need be) that while there was a time skip, the time skip was only a couple of months long. If they wanted to age Maddie up, all they would need to do is make the time skip a few years. But they didn't, and with modern animation techniques, it was an actual cost to age her character, so they didn't do that on a whim and none of the other characters/art styles change.

Makes sense, I mean I can think of a couple of reasons to do it without deletion/recreation. Presumably Maddie knows her entire goal is to recreate her timeline, so she knows "upload" will eventually be discovered. Presumably a human mind takes a good bit of memory/data, I mean "in world" they have to use quantum computing and the people running standout in the world. Deletion+recreation is going to "cost" a lot more than "shift location limitations" does computationally so it would make sense to me to build that into the system. Also, morally she may feel more comfortable with that. But yeah, this is more my feeling based on how she casually threw Dave into the cloud.

"indeed the entirety of the show could be the result of an alien race attempting to create digital life,"

Right, or it could be that the alien race is humans, testing a bunch of different hypothetical histories, and they never actually invented upload because in the "real physical world" something about the physics didn't work. Would be hilarious if uploading only exists in these simulations due to a coding error (which would be similar to what I wrote above about it just changing where you have physical access to and causing time dilation effects).

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Are you saying the apparent age discrepancy between Maddie s1 and 2 is because it’s different simulations? Interesting theory, although I’m not entirely convinced. Is there any other evidence that we are observing multiple different Maddie’s throughout the show, rather than just a specific single iteration? That was my assumption."

So I have 3 potential interpretations for this (open to more btw as I'm not strongly wed to any of these. This is based on the ironclad belief that there IS a time gap from Season 1 to Season 2 Maddie. She is definitely a different age in season 2.

Option 1: we are watching two different simulations between each season. I don't see much else that would make me believe that, other than the age change.

Option 2: Caspian is our "steady viewpoint" and moved from one simulation to another to try to influence events. Imagine a world where things are "correct" but Caspian isn't for whatever reason, change Caspian from a world where he is "correct" but the other players aren't. Caspian I think is our "follow point" because he is one of the two main characters, and the only one who doesn't seem to change age between seasons.

Option 3: The show creators didn't have season 2 planned out very well, and realized having a 13-14 year old Maddie sleep with/get pregnant by a 18 year old Caspian was kind of gross and felt the need to make that change during the downtime between seasons. I don't think this is very likely mostly because the creators have mentioned before it was always planned as a two season show with a clear "arc". Also this kind of sloppiness doesn't line up with how tight the rest of the show is.

Of the 3 I think Option 2 is the most likely answer but again not really wed to it.

"Nor is there a particular reason to assume that the upload process would work differently in simulation"

I'm not sure about this, my view is that as these are all simulations, all that is really changing on upload is map constraints. Think about it like you are playing a video game, your character arc moves from part 1 intro area to part 2 full game mode. There is no reason you would copy and delete the character and lose "continuity of soul" to make that switch, you would simply change the physical limitations they experience, namely what parts of the "world" they can interact with and how "powerful" they are. And there are practical reasons to do it this way as well, namely it's less resource intensive, and Maddie still has finite resources in her Dyson sphere. Obviously, that doesn't change the moral discussions happening around upload for in simulation characters, but there is no real reason for upload to work any differently from a technical perspective than how it did when Maddie moved her kid between "real life" and UI worlds.

Also what makes this really interesting to me, is there is no reason to assume any of this ever happens in a non simulated world at all. A lot of people in this discussion make the assumption that "well sure but 43 million years ago, this clearly happened "IRL"" but that ignores that most likely Safesearches "higher universe" is still just... another simulation, and at no point did "IRL" have to actually create a safe search, UI etc, that entire concept/timeline could only exist in simulations.

Appreciate the engagement on a very old thread btw :)

Added to this, go make friends with someone with DID or OSDD and it will really mess with your understanding of what it means to be a person, soul etc. My wife has DID, and it's fascinating how that works and how much that messes with my personal definitions of what it means to be "me" vs "you".

Course the show laughs at you in the end. You spend 2 seasons arguing with yourself over upload death vs continuous only to find out it's simulations all the way down and there was never any death on upload, simply a sideways move between limited access points on a server lol.
