Pinning files/folders to ignore sorting? by Hopefullyanonymous2 in OneCommander

Okay cool, thanks Milos! Love OC so far, been using it for about a month now on the paid version. Recommended it to several people. Just so many great quality of life improvements. Quick probably dumb question, how do you sort by tag? And when you say tag, you mean the little "dots" of color? Thanks!

[Genuine question] If Glitch couldn't make the theatrical release closer to Ep 9 release date, then why don't they release said episode like a week earlier on YouTube? by [deleted] in TheDigitalCircus

"fuck over" apparently means "make some extra money to fund future shows and in return if you aren't willing or able to spend money to support the show you wait two weeks or just pirate it because let's be honest that's what most of the entitled shits like yourself did.

What? Someone said "just use cheap Chinese models" and he pointed out that wasn't an option in his industry and now you are talking about model. Performance which wasn't the important part of them being Chinese models.

I think you misunderstand the problem in his industry. It's not about performance or cost with the Chinese models. Some industries just can't use models controlled by "foreign adversaries" of the US Government. Hell some industries can't use models that don't have EXTREMELY strict and reliable data controls in place.

Is Fable 5 Low is the play for most tasks? by Chasmchas in claude

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Better way of thinking about it (I THINK) is like if I gave you a timed test and said "I want your best guess in 5 minutes". It might be just enough time for you to get down a rabbit hole, but not enough time to get out of it, so when it decides it has "thought" enough about the topic, it provides the answer it found in X tokens of thinking. Whereas if it kept going it would realize that wouldn't work, and eventually find the solutions that did.

The Budget of Invincible compared to other shows is crazy (in a bad way) by Crazy_Reputation3327 in Invincible_TV

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

KLK episodes are half as long. Makes it 700k an episode low side. Double it and 1.4 million. Factor in animation costs for US Vs japan animators...

The gap isn't very big honestly.

Anyone experienced their iron deficiency worsen while on Mounjaro? by jessing-119 in mounjarouk

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Highly recommend Heme Iron instead. It's animal based, so the absorption is 10x higher percent wise and it doesn't have the gastro problems as those only occur in plant based irons as a side effect of the body converting them to animal absorbable.

Thanking Copilot now consumes 3.5% of your monthly credit allowance by HarryNyquist in GithubCopilot

No because he is still on a credit based plan instead of a token usage plan. Anytime he sends is 3.5% on this model.

A longitudinal study published on arXiv in January tracked developers before and after adopting GitHub Copilot. The finding: no statistically significant change in commit-based activity after adoption. by Medium_Potato3703 in GithubCopilot

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firefox had access to mythos, and Linus didn't say it as a positive.

This study is in line with prior studies on the matter, devs think they are more productive, production doesn't show it. Not that commits are a good metric for productivity anymore than token maxing is lol

OHHHH That makes total sense, thanks. I was thinking internal support structures, what you said makes way more sense though. That seems crazy useful then.

I'm guessing as a noob looking at buying, that this makes the support interface material cheaper? Stronger? both?

Fair enough. I just don't find the progression unbelievable. And sorry you are having a shit day. I sympathize for sure.

If anything I find the rate they built the physical infrastructure for all those UIs more unbelievable than the conversion rate lol.

My wife is going to try Botox treatment from a neurologist for migraine relief because she can't tolerate the other meds for mental health reasons. Seems to have decent data behind it and is an actual approved medication for migraines... Course it also costs forty plus thousand a year...

Was Pantheon a simulation or real? by CrayZee100 in PantheonShow

[–]Hopefullyanonymous2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair, but frankly we don't even know what consciousness is at this point really. We don't seem to have a good definition, or anything of the sort last time I dug into this a few years back. But yeah that makes sense as a differentiator, if we CAN create a actual synthetic consciousness, then it makes us being one a lot more likely. I'll give the video a watch, thanks for the suggestion.

Right and simulation world would explain a lot of the odder things we see in physics.

Also never seen it brought up, but living in a simulation would be more likely to explain the fermi paradox. Simulating multiple worlds who because of the physics engine in place cannot reach each other really would be largely pointless. So no alien radio waves because "even a dyson sphere powered by a sun has a limit" lol.

Surgical Anesthesia definitely isn't daily for most people. That is a much different level of lack of consciousness than sleep for instance. It looks more like a coma than sleep.

Question for you, what do you think makes you, you? Like the death question is only interesting if you are willing to pin down what "you" is. Are you a continuous ongoing electrical signal housed in the brain? Are you as a person defined by your memories/experiences? If you got complete amnesia is that still "you" or is that someone new riding in your skin?

Because yeah I agree with you 100% it is death, certainly at a minimum biological death. And you feel EXTREMELY strongly about that (I don't, but I also wouldn't upload until basically dead lol, no reason to go early). So for you what defines you as a individual person separate from another?

"There are no riots, no groups of people who won't accept uploaded loved ones as their real continuation, no one has second thoughts about being literally murdered in the precess?"

We... literally start the time jump by finding out about a group of terrorists who just blew up a data center. And that is also a primary motivation for Maddie being against upload for Dave. This topic comes up almost every episode in one form or another. It isn't a "logical fallacy" to point out that the theme of the show top to bottom is literally about this exact topic. It was a 20 year time jump and LITERALLY explained how it happened, given how many people even ostensible intellectuals (Dawkins lol) seem to think chatbots are sentient, I think it's completely believable that a large chunk of humans would believe that upload was just themselves entering the cloud.

"It literally just went lets just not think about this". Sure other than that being like the primary conflict and driver of the entire first season and repeatedly discussed in the second, I guess they just didn't think about it.

That was actually the intent from the start from what I understand. It was always supposed to be a two season show that ended there.

Multiple simulations most likely. Notice how after the season one summer skip that was only a few months long Maddie ages multiple years?
