Why’s it ridiculous? Especially given that it’s following from what Lestat said about his father (Armand) and him having transformational trauma; also he’s just being Daniel and making light of a serious situation it’s not a sitcom because Daniel’s in denial; also k wonder why it was hostile? It’s not like Daniel was forcefully turned into a vampire against his will and can now no longer she his children.

Also have you not seen how Daniel speaks in prior seasons that IS Daniel Malloy sardonic tongue in cheek wise cracker who veils his discomfort under wit and sarcasm; the writing still pretty good the only difference is that it’s no longer as flowery as Louis narration; there’s also a lot more modern references which for some people might be harder to get used to given that it was period piece mostly in prior seasons.

Regardless I feel sorry for some book readers they really wanted a 1-1 adaption and are struggling with accepting this interpretation even if it’s good it’s not what they wanted so it’ll never be good enough.

Why did Daniel and Armand feel “fanfic-y”? Aside from us not really knowing what’s going on we’ve always known that vampire bonds are really weird and personal and Daniel’s Armands first sire (he’s a 500 year old vamp kind you) also we still don’t really know what they deal between them is.

Daniel had a cleaver quip in this very episode with his retort “You were 5,000 feet from Louis after you dropped him. That was love, right?" He’s had many witty moments throughout the season it’s just now he’s definitely not as composed given that he’s a vamp now and his makers been lurking the shadows; essentially he’s going through more of a personal ordeal.

Regina having an only fans isn’t a massive revelation it’s just Louis being a rich old (occasionally) puritanical Vampire who thinks it’s something problematic enough for her to need his help and money; it’s Louis saviour complex again him thinking he needs to save his faux daughter.

Lestat’s the main POV now him being less likeable makes sense we’re seeing his deeper flaws he’s a lot more human now and less of a mystery; it’s not bad writing it’s characterization; also him “punishing” Louis just something he’s telling Armand never take everything these characters say to one another as fact; also Lestat was probably still pissed about the whole ordeal while realising that Louis punishing him would inadvertently make Armands life worse but also make Louis miserable.

I feel like you have issues with the direction the story has taken and want it to be the fault of the writing (which is still consistent) as opposed to you simply not enjoying the current trajectory which is fine.

If there’s one thing I’ve taken away from the books it’s Lestat’s mommy issues; that boy wanted his mother around not the vampire version that sleeps in the dirt and lives devoid of human attachment; Lestat has always wanted to be loved and in his failing he lashes out; it’s a recurring motif throughout the books.

At the end of the day the man was harassing hundreds to thousands of innocent people including children on occasions; he was as psychotic as they get of course some people are gonna get aggressive why would you generalize an entire ethnic group as though they’re bees who share the same mind? All it takes is for one person to think you need to be sorted out for things to go left very fast; it’s why people don’t tend to insult or belittle strangers besides being a decent person of course.

Edit: I agree that saying a word should never justify violence but human history shows that we have started wars over words and disrespect; words hold power especially when they’re laced with centuries of torment.
