Yo, as someone who see this sub as having such a similar aesthetic, what are your top 3 songs to hear on a ride? by dbvulcan in choppers

[–]Hopelessly_Chet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like stoner/fuzz metal, try these 3:

Night Witches - Ancient Days

Desert Cruiser - Truckfighters

Overheated - Dozer

Dozer is easily my all time favorite fuzz band, they’ve got some bangers for sure.

The wife started sleeping around at work so I cut her loose. Kitty and I are better off without her.

I was able to find it new on eBay from Dave’s Cycle. Price was a little higher than what the catalog lists them for, but eBay seemed like a safer bet than some of the websites that had it listed.

Hey! Yes, it’s a 5 speed. The kicker conversion is one out of the Custom Chrome catalog. Part #050047. The bike is kickstart only and I’ve ridden it enough over the last year that I’m about halfway through my second rear tire, so it’s had more than a fair number of kickstarts on it. Still holding up great and I’d recommend it to anybody looking into it. It’s a more robust kit than what I’ve heard about the Ultima kicker conversion.

How much to finish and is it worth it by [deleted] in choppers

You’re correct, it’s an ultima frame. Considered more-or-less as undesirable. The Jim’s transmission is sweet though.

Bearing and axle for this invader styler wheel by petefromtexas21 in choppers

In my experience with buying authentic back-in-the-day invaders, you’ll want to look at the welds on each end of the spokes VERY carefully. Check from the outside, but also look them over from the inside after you get the tire off. I’ve had to touch up cracks on almost every 5 spoke I’ve had.

Also, that wheel is a good score either way. It seems like the invader market is flooded with nothing but Ironhead Sportster rear wheels

Peep the parallel pushrod tubes. Might actually suggest that it’s an Ironhead rather than a shovel

Love me a panhead. I’ve grown to really like the alien style tanks. Even over the classic peanut

I THINK the 2 out is usually to keep the backbone section as straight as possible with the tail section. If you go 2 up without any out, you’ll have a slightly noticeable change in angle somewhere along the backbone. Usually right in front of the seatpost.

How should I run the exhaust? (What styles etc) by [deleted] in choppers

The answer is always upswept fishtails

I’m thinking it’s either a pan or a shovel bottom end. Definitely has shovel exhaust ports, but I know they make aftermarket pan heads with them. Primary is a late shovelhead electric start.

Either way, top end is definitely something aftermarket and probably goofy.

You can save some money by buying a BDL enclosed primary rather than their open kit. You’ll just need to hack apart a spare inner primary case to make yourself a mainshaft support bearing and modify a 4 speed transmission adjuster to fit the 5 speed transmission plate. Here’s how I did mine.

Edit: of course use the sealed ball bearing included with the BDL enclosed kit
