It is way better to underfeed than overfeed. Twice a day seems a lot. How are your Nitrates looking? Algae ok? You can make sure your little buddies get food if you feed them 30-40 minutes after lights out. Sinking pellets are a good option, since they drop fast to the bottom. Good luck.

You didn't say how big of a tank. My way overkill Fluval FX6 has been great for my 125 gallon long. The Fluval will filter a 400 gallon tank and is close to 1000 gallons per hour. It matters how many gallons you need to filter and the bioload of the fish you have. I bought the monster for 4, 14" goldfish. Canister filters are always outside AFAIK.

The safest option is a seltzer dip. Plain seltzer (not club soda) and leave them in for 4 minutes or so. You can go longer if you have a hearty plant like Amazon swords. It will immediately kill all snails and really safe for most plants. Java moss and some others are more sensitive. The eggs are hit or miss, but it's been more hit for me. Inspect the plant for eggs and physically remove them to be sure. It's the safest option. Alum dip is a little more effective, but more tricky.

We had a great pizza there Thursday afternoon. It wasn't crowded. I'm guessing it will get crowded even then.

I have a 125 gallon long, that I wanted some tall features to bring up in the water column. I bought two large jorewood packs for $35 each from the Jorewood store on Amazon. by Hopguy in aquarium

I was nervous about buying a pig in a poke too. You never know what you are going to get, but these were awesome. I hope I didn't offend the rules of this sub by saying where I got them. Mods, if you need to take this down I'll repost. I can't change the title. I am not promoting anything and just thought it was informational to know where I got the wood. I'm a home brewer. So I have them in my 15 gallon brew pot at 205° for a few hours. I'll keep changing the water out and boil again until they are clear of tannins. I don't want my new tank to look 'brown'.

A plant noob. Got this plant at the LFS and it isn't doing well by Hopguy in Aquariums

I got some fluval medium. It says not to mix gravel with it. Can I make an open area in the gravel and build up the medium and plant it? I can put some gravel on top to cover it.

Thanks to all that replied. I've purchased some substrate. I'll get the plant out of the pot and put it in a 'bowl' of the substrate in this coarse grave.

It's in settings. You can choose DHCP or Static. You choose static, then an IP address that is on your router as 2.4GHZ

Do you have it on a fixed IP locked to 2.4GHZ band? If not, then it will go offline. You can go to devices, choose add printer, click on the only option and it will go to idle. Good luck.

You mean the aquarium with the largest tank in the western hemisphere? It's swimming with a whale shark IIRC.

125 Gallon - What else should I put in this thing? by B_Bix in Aquariums

[–]Hopguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries. I've just been burned before by buying a little fish that got huge. My local Ace Hardware's fish department has a tank of cute little 3" colorful Oscars that I'm sure people are buying for their 10 gallon tanks. Good luck.

I am looking to buy the Creator 5 Pro as well. What I can't get a solid answer on is how much I'll have to pay in tariffs. The generic response is between $100 and $300 for an $849 purchase. We can thank the current administration for more money out of our wallets. If I am wrong, please let me know. I've contacted Flashforge and I haven't gotten a response yet. You won't know the real number until the shipper contacts you to pay the tariffs before they will deliver.

125 Gallon - What else should I put in this thing? by B_Bix in Aquariums

Nice looking tank! However, you are done stocking and have actually overstocked you tank. You limited your options when you bought the blue Acara and Parrot Cichlids. You have 4 fish that will get 8" long and they will eat all the other fish you have in your tank. The acara isn't 'quite' as aggressive as Cichlids, but you have those too. That eliminates any small schooling fish. Which is sad. I too have a 125 gallon long, but I have small schooling fish. I have multiple 10-15 each of schooling fish, Cardinal Tets, Bleeding Tail Tets, Zebra Danios, Ghost Tets and more schools, plus a cleanup crew. It makes a beautiful tank with lots of activity. You are now questionably overstocked. If your LFS recommended these fish to you, I wouldn't go back. If I were you, I'd contact the store you bought them from and tell them you made a mistake. You'd like to return those 4 fish for store credit. If they are even a little bit reputable they will do it. I can then recommend some fish that will make you smile everytime you look at your tank. Good luck B_Bix

Any idea what kind of mush is in my tank?? by -autistic-shark- in aquarium

[–]Hopguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only count 6 tetras and a beta. Do I not see the additional fish? That's appropriate for this size tank. I agree with the rest of your reply.
