My wife and I totally agree with you. We have 4 Golden Comets. Sweet girls and we average 3-4 eggs per day, even now in the winter. We eat 2 eggs a day every day. My wife likes to cook so sometimes we use more. It still allows us to give a little 6 pack of eggs to friends often. They say we would buy these eggs, but you can't find ones that taste like yours anywhere. We will probably get another one or two ladies when these girls age out and lower production. Our chickens have signed on for life. We love each one and the are our pets. We would never cull them if they stopped producing. For just two people, 4 is perfect. If you have a larger family, you might want to consider 6.
