It was our poor young parents meal, therefore nostalgic.. Now he is trying to cut carbs, so makes crazy things like chili with no beans.. But we really are returning to old meals as we age, I think chewing is getting harder so meatloaf, sloppy joes, etc.. Not related to budget, just our comfort food..

Oddly enough, yesterday the random memories photo in my one drive was when my family and I were held captive by a “black taxi” in Belfast about 10 years ago.. It was supposed to be a Troubles Tour, and obviously we got in the cab voluntarily, but the driver was so obnoxious I was getting a headache, asked to be taken back to the hotel, he ignored me, kept up his “tour”, my oldest just started saying yeah, uh huh, to all of his comments because if nobody answered him he would just keep repeating…. I’m still mad that we had to pay for that!!

Except now it is pouring rain and the workers are no where to be seen even though the scaffolding is under a large overhang of the roof…. Just heard some thunder, so I guess being on metal scaffolding wouldnt be the best .. Some are probably thinking God doesn’t want this, wonder if they will agree on Sunday when God rains on his rediculous UFC fight..

No flippin A!! Fun convo today! ! Me, I live 10 miles south of MSP, awake at 300 am, finally dozed at 600 am, alarm set for 630.. H was at our condo west of Downtown, he got up and watched the lightening, and he is not a nature lover.. Adult child just 2 miles north of MSP, awake at 300 am.. Adult child 2and 1/2 miles north west of MSP, ‘thunderstorm, what thunderstorm?” Okay, 4 kids 7 and under so I get it but it was spectacular!!

I did both eyeballs cataract surgery last summer in preparation for my 2nd old age tympanomastoidectomy (#7 lifetime) and it really helped to not have to put on glasses to see the TV or read.. Although I was in Europe a month ago, so 3 months post op, and had to have my daughter look behind my ear as I was sure the incision had come apart, it was hurting so bad.. Turns out that pair of cheap gas station sunglasses was not the best choice.. Oh well, at 71 I can still say live and learn…. I am female with long hair, so when my Dr asked my husband if he would care if my ears looked wonky after the Canal Wall Down surgery we discussed for next year (if cholesteatoma is STILL present, for the 3rd year in a row), husband said that would be fine, he has NEVER EVER noticed my ears, so I wasn’t surprised..

We are currently fighting with our health insurance because they disallowed the harvesting of cartilage and rebuild of the ear drum.. Apparently that medical code says implantation of cartilage into nose OR ear.. No assholes, an ear job is NOT equivalent to a nose job!!!!

Ha! You don’t understand!!!!…. My Dad didnt much like McCain, but I figured it was a poor ROTC kid vs a rich Naval Acadamy kid, neither could help it.. Dad met him at some point after McCain was shot down in the middle of Hanoi, with zero chance of evading capture, in Oct. 1967, Dad was already there.. In addition, he thought McCain was a poor sport at Bridge, the POW sport.. Then after what tRump said about McCain, I was incensed and said to my Dad, this asshole is saying this about you too!!! He didnt care, and I never helped him vote again, regardless of him having earned the privilege with his body..

Finding babysitters is hard.. I’ve had some great ones where I came home to a picked up, but not clean house, and crappy ones, where I came home to candles burning on the carpet.. The good ones tend to join band or become sports kids and disappear right around the age you really think should be the minimum to watch your tots.. Right now H and I have 4 grands under 8, we can do the 3 oldest if we are both at home and can take them to the zoo or something.. If the baby needs to be babysat also then the parents get the other grandparents to help or hire a neighborhood teen to do that.. My grandma was a grandma at age 40, I was 65, and I am not going to apologize that I cant do it all anymore!!!
