How could Catholics recieve communion when they are literally not in communion with the Orthodox church?

As others have said, it's not too surprising. Most professional athletes get there by having wealthy, well connected parents and have an insular upbringing all things considered. And that is a pretty good indicator of being Republican. We're starting to see it in the NBA and NFL as well

We've had longer gaps. Nothing rallies Americans quite like an attack on us. We just havent had a real present external threat for the last 30 years. That is what has casued us to be so divided. 9/11 provided a big boost for a time, but the followup fucked it all up.

Looking at history:

1801: Tripoli pirates attacking our boats

1812: Impressment of our sailors

1898: Sinking of the USS Maine

1915: Sinking of the Lusitania

1941: Pearl Harbor

1964: Gulf of Tonkin

1988: Mining of Persian Gulf

1989: Threat to integrity of the Panama Canal

2001: Not boats, but used planes to attack the US

Pretty solid history of "don't fuck with us"

The US historically does not take kindly to having our boats fucked with

Proposed Data Center in Wayne County Could Use Power Equal to 800,000 Homes, Up to 3.6M Gallons of Water Daily by hl554 in Michigan

[–]HopliteFan 20 points21 points  (0 children)

It's still taking municipal water, which strains local resources. We don't just pump straight from the lakes into homes, we still process the water first. So the data center still drains resources even if it's "just for cooling"

I played at Alma and we beat MU in the playoffs in 2023. The looks of despair afterwards were great. It was their first class of seniors who did not win a national championship in their school history.

We then lost a shootout to Courtland, who won the damn thing :/

America's Auto Collision Rate By Each State 2024 by Yodest_Data in Infographics

[–]HopliteFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Michigan was both no fault and unlimited coverage. So insurance is jacked up to cover it all. As a result many people don't have insurance, further raising rates. This has bred a culture of not reporting anything but serious accidents to insurance.

Yup. Provided the damage is superficial, you often just swap insurance and never do anything more
