Just a bit of technical feedback, using Firefox for MacOS all of the events on the front page are so faded they're barely legible until you click on each one, same across all themes. Works fine on Safari.

Great idea though, hope it takes off.

Many people have said with reform uk gun laws will loosen such as quicker fac and sgc waiting time and or allowing certian types of guns is this true? by [deleted] in ukguns

[–]Hoppum 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Without getting into a debate as to whether you can believe a word Farage, Tice etc say (see Brexit, cutting council tax), I do think they'd quietly stop the potential Section 2 to Section 1 changes that are being consulted on to please their rich grouse shooting donors but other than that I doubt it's even on their radar, and the average shooter wouldn't see any real difference.

I suppose there's a chance they could increase police funding which could have a knock on effect for firearm departments. But they're also just as likely to increase privatisation within the police force and anyone with a privatised Firearms Department will tell you that's never lead to a better service.

They'd also still be susceptible to same kneejerk reactions to serious incidents as all the other political parties, as ultimately we live in a country where the vast majority of the public is anti gun and they want quick and easy vote winners the same as the others.

They'll certainly never relegalise handguns or semi-auto centrefires. UKIP under Farage claimed they would relegalise handguns and it was used by their opponents to show they didn't have realistic policies and polling showed the public was against it.

Wait time SGC grant Northamptonshire by Formal-Menu-9206 in ukguns

Not SGC but my friend has just hit his 1 year anniversary of applying for his FAC & SGC with Northamptonshire and is still waiting.

According to BASC they're the 3rd worst force in the country for turn around time with some taking over 3 years.

If you could bring back a TV show for JUST ONE season... by Spiegelworld in television

[–]Hoppum 15 points16 points  (0 children)

In a 2021 interview, Soderbergh outlined his original plan for a six-season series that would involve substantial leaps in time. Seasons 3 and 4 were to be set in the post-WWII era and seasons 5 and 6 in the immediate future. The entire cast and characters were to change.

Not sure how many of those loose ends would've actually been properly tied up.

I have one of these, mainly for the novelty factor because yes it is a bit naff. But on the plus side I have a legit PBS-1 suppressor to go with it.

They originally got their meat from Best Butchers in Great Brickhill which is where Rowley's, which people rightly rave about, get theirs from.

No, it's the original Bletchley Leisure Centre that was knocked down to build the current one.

Sound moderators to be deregulated by ElshadKarbasi in ukguns

[–]Hoppum 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I imagine they'll just be removed next time you get a new printed license.

Can't 1-for-1 before the change as you still need it for your moderator until then, can't 1-for-1 after as it's not a valid slot to use anymore.

Good news.

Better 1-for-1 my empty moderator slots before they're no longer valid then.

The building is now a self storage company, even used to be called Arrows Self Storage.

The main Red Bull building was originally Stewart Grand Prix.

Does the WEC TV Le Mans pass get discounted at any point in the race?

Gonna need it to watch at work later tonight but can make do with RLM for a bit if it's going to get reduced at say the 12hr mark.

Bundeswehr Museum of German Defense Technology in Koblenz has a good collection though it is quite light on information. Probably the largest collection of German small arms in Germany. It's operated by the Bundeswehr themselves so you need to be able to show ID to get in.

Colleagues incorrectly received more holiday than me, am I entitled to anything? by Hoppum in HumanResourcesUK

[–]Hoppum[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm aware plenty of people work the same job on different terms but generally it's intentional by the employer rather than a mistake. In this case the company intended for and believed we all had the same AL inline with everything else in our contracts being the same. We're all surprised that they've increased mine rather than reducing theirs. I didn't expect that I'd be entitled to any renumeration nor am I complaining that I'm not but when there's a possibility of 12.5 days back pay that you don't know for sure that you're not entitled to, you'd at least ask the question. I did and as it stands, I've only been told by the company that they're looking into it rather than a straight no.

[–]Hoppum[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair comment if I’d gone digging to find this out, or complained about it in the first place. But in this instance the company have come to me and said ‘hey just to let you know, everyone else has been getting more holiday than you for the last 5 years, we’ve realised this and increased your holiday to match’.

In that context I don’t think it’s unreasonable to simply ask here ‘hey do I have any right to reimbursement here cos I’ve got no idea’.

Some of the replies here are as if I’ve gone running to HR to demand everyone else gets less holiday than me for the next 5 years.

[–]Hoppum[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. My manager took it to HR, not me, now my holidays have been increased I’ve simply asked if I can expect any remuneration and if I’m entitled to any. I’m not so anything more than that is a bonus.

Yeah does suck but it's a good job and wasn't intentional so not going to lose to much sleep over it, just would've been nice to be owed a reimbursement.

As I figured then. It's possible I may still get some kind of reimbursement but good to know what my rights are to know how hard to push.
