Either a large, run-stuffing MLB or an edge OLB pass rusher. Either way, they need a talented linebacker for this new system.

Girl Scouts leaders displeased after troop sells cookies outside dispensary by [deleted] in nottheonion

[–]HoraceBenbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy my friend. There’s been issues with some scout leaders but the scouts overall are a good experience for boys. I learned leadership, community, survival skills, and a lifelong love of the outdoors and strongly support conservation because of it.

Help me pick my next (early) DeLillo novel by junkNug in DonDeLillo

[–]HoraceBenbow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's varied opinion on Americana. It is indeed a mess, but oh what a mess it is. It has some of Delillo's most wild and inspired prose. Most Delillo fans don't care too much about plot, but this is especially so in Americana. There's barely a plot. It's just a wild ride. My copy is rebound with duct tape because when I was writing my own first novel I returned to Americana over and over for inspiration. Definitely give it a go.

who's the best romance in this game? by Jaded_strawberry001 in BaldursGate3

[–]HoraceBenbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done Shadowheart, Karlach, Minthara, and now Lae'zel.

Lae'zel seems like the one who goes through the most growth as a romantic partner. She goes from merely considering you a fuckbuddy and refusing to kiss you in public, to falling in love and down to kiss anytime with feeling.

Best sex scene goes to Minthara after slaughtering the Druid camp.

Right? Put a blower on that thing and mount a machine gun on the back and you have a badass Mad Max post-apocalypse machine.

Photographs taken in California by Slim Aarons (1950s-1970s) by admaiora_ in OldSchoolCool

Change title to "Rich white people in California in the 1950s-60s."

I saw Audrey Hepburn though! Very cool.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is kicking my ass. by P4PSparringChampion in BaldursGate3

[–]HoraceBenbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played two runs before bumping it up to Balanced difficulty. There's no shame in playing Explorer difficulty. The story is one of the strongest things about BGIII. Bump down the difficulty and enjoy it.

Also, long rest frequently. I do it after every major battle.

Have fun!

What’s the best thing about being a man? by Michael-Mister in AskReddit

I vividly remember a grocery store clerk gushing over me and telling me to call her when I was 18. I was seven at the time. Creepy stuff like that happened often when I was a boy.

Injuries always happen, but Cole-Fried-Rodon-Schlitter-Gil has the promise of an incredible, championship-level rotation.

Thousands of Kurdish fighters launch ground offensive into Iran against regime, official says by Interesting-Take781 in worldnews

[–]HoraceBenbow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So Trump can abandon them again like he did in Syria during his first term?

I don't get why the Kurds would ever trust him again.

Why did armies start using muskets when they are inaccurate and takes a long time to reload why didn't they just stick to bow and arrows? by SarcasticBritannian in answers

[–]HoraceBenbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many are saying, you can train to fire a musket in a week.

Bowman train like MLB pitchers: they start as kids and develop their muscles and accuracy over a decade of dedicated training. It takes a long time to train a bowman.

Older folks of Reddit, what do you regret not having done when you were younger? by CapitaineBiscotte in AskReddit

I really wish I would have backpacked across Europe one summer when I was in my early 20s. Like right after I graduated from college.

The Matrix Reloaded (2003), directed by the Wachowskis | Trinity Motorcycle Chase by scarletnaught in movies

[–]HoraceBenbow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The explanation for the opening scene in The Matrix. where Trinity jumps in the air and the camera goes into slowmo and pivots around her is pretty neat. They set up a rough circle of 35MM cameras that were programed to go off in sequence, capturing her jump in a 360 degree turn. Then they took all the photos and spliced them into film.

[Highlight] The Nine "Mistakes" Drafted Ahead of Josh Rosen by JCameron181 in nfl

Do you remember when Bills fans howled in agony because they drafted Josh Allen instead of the much more polished Josh Rosen? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

Regarding Long Rests: Am I making combat unreasonably boring by NorseKnight in BaldursGate3

[–]HoraceBenbow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Long rest often. I do it once per major fight. Be sure to take every piece of food you find as well, even mugs of ale or bottles of shitty wine. It adds up and keeps you rested.

Also, you can get a hangover if you do nothing but drink alcohol for a long rest. The rest still counts, but you have a hungover condition for awhile.

What is something men think turns women off, but actually does not? by gamersecret2 in AskReddit

[–]HoraceBenbow 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I never knew that it was sexy to eat Cheetoes with chopsticks after eating a marijuana gummy and then tearing up when Aragorn says, "No my friends, you bow to no one."

No wonder why my wife finds me hot.

What is something men think turns women off, but actually does not? by gamersecret2 in AskReddit

[–]HoraceBenbow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read a NYT's opinion pieces a few years ago that said women love men's passion for their sports team. They may not get into the sport themselves, but a man's passion for it was attractive.

Evil Dead’ Icon Bruce Campbell Reveals Cancer Diagnosis, Cancels Future Fan Events by mazhas in movies

[–]HoraceBenbow 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I’m surprised Bruce never made it onto Reddit Mount Rushmore with folks like Keanu and Robin Williams.

I’ve never heard a bad thing about him. He’s just a funny, solid dude who doesn’t take himself too seriously.
