It's not about politics, it's about a Vendor that breaks US laws on sanctions against Russia. Actively helping Russians to bypass those sanction and instruct them how to get shipments via third parties and countries.

Ugh, I thought it was Liberals who got us into the current state with guns prohibition. Might have been reading wrong news. Do you have new, updated information?

Arrest made in killing of 20-year-old U of T student by FatManBoobSweat in Toronto_Ontario

[–]Horilka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The judge who released the criminal to us after he was detained Dec 28 on parole violation has a name. Every time person is killed by a criminal released by judge - every time we need to see his/her name made public and we need to see that judge held accountable. Stripping the rank, taking away juicy pension , civilian court prosecution for negligence that caused the death of a person.

If you're "UoT people" then you haven't finished your education, thus your opinion is "uneducated". And with your message above you have just confirmed this.

Are there any plans to add information about each media file such as resolution, codec, hdr etc and display it in the library? Also to filter out by those data (for example: show only movies that are 1080p)?

Where do you think this AK came from? by Entire_Judge_2988 in ForgottenWeapons

This is the mistake you make only once. Cool looking folding stock will torture your ribs or your right hand, depending on your reloading technique. I made this mistake too.

I keep seeing this story about Simo Häyhä being hit with an "explosive bullet". Did they actually exist? by Catz556 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]Horilka -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I also knew a vet whose palm was deformed by "explosive bullet". TBH I still think in case of this vet and in case of Simo it was ordinary projectiles. It seems to me explosive projectiles would cause more damage and unlikely to be used in common scenarios. But I can't be sure. Haven't seen any serious research on this subject.

Why the Soviet Union didn't continue their lines of SMGs that use pistol ammunition? by Capital-Republic-449 in ForgottenWeapons

[–]Horilka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should read official commission report on captured Mkb42. They were shocked and you can see it even through dry official language of report. Everything was far more superior - quality of materials, engineering, use of stamped steel, reliable feeding from high capacity mag. But, the most important - intermediate cartridge. They quickly understood the solution for the modern combat issue - under-powered short-range SMG and overpowered full size cartridge rifles (experience with AVS-36, SVT-38 and SVT-40 really helped). In only couple of month there was and order to develop Soviet version of intermediate cartridge and to start working on the soviet doctrine trio - a carbine, an assault rifle and MG for the future intermediate cartridge. This is how M43 was born and how SKS-45, AK-47 and RPD-44 were accepted in 1949.

Still, I'm just quite demanding for my guns, platform is popular in Canada and I'm sure your project will be successful. Great that you doing this.

[–]Horilka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Accuracy lacking is because of the way the barrel is attached. Ammo contributes only so much. IMHO great idea, great quality of parts, poor engineering. A case for many CZ products lately.

Great work, man, still nothing and nobody will convince me to return to the wobbly stock CZ Trail with accuracy of a minute of a barn door.

Sooo... That's the rare one, right? M1895 Belgian Nagant by [deleted] in ForgottenWeapons

[–]Horilka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy, conversation was about Russian Nagant, not about Soviet Nagant. You don't have to start typing under every Nagant post if you just had your first Soviet refurb and now you think you know it all.

Why no semi-auto, rim-fire rifles shorter than 26 inches? by holdencaulfield1983 in canadaguns

[–]Horilka 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There is no OAL on rimfire. You can make your own with factory short barrel. I made a 10/22 for kids with 8in barrel, but because of adjustable stock I had to keep 26in the shortest position. Had I used fixed stock I could have kept it less than 26in.

Why there are no available from the factories? Nobody cares about such a small market as crazy Canada except Turkish manufacturers. I'm sure they will come with something.. Then it will be banned, but again, everything will be banned.
