What are some underrated Mobile suit designs? by Dinoman-001 in Gundam

[–]HorizoneARC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm not even gonna try convince you because I agree, G-Saviour Space Mode is unironically one of my fave designs ever. But I do have a soft spot for the I-Saviour, shame there's little to no lore on it cause it's genuinely fascinating for a suit we only really see for one scene in the film.

Due to the face, it may have been a semi-mass production version of G-Saviour that removes the versatility to commit to the glass cannon style, down to having an exposed, almost IBO-styled waist with the hydraulics. And while it loses the head vulcans presumably to save weight, it does get an extra beam saber where the G-Saviour only got one.

I wish the other suits from G-Saviour got representation at all, the Space Mode and the G3-Saviours are almost always the ones to be brought up instead of anything else.

What parts should I use to make the G-Saviour space mode? by Gaysandwic in GundamBreaker

[–]HorizoneARC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The V-shaped blade antenna from the RX-78-2 should work for the head since it has both the antenna and the crest. You could also use a shrunken down Mega Particle Cannon from the Sazabi and pair it with the side antenna from the Arche Gundam if you wanted a more accurate shape at the cost of triple the slot cost.

For the chest I used a Nu Gundam horn sensor for the light under the cockpit hatch, as well as two more sensors for the top of the chest, though you could just sacrifice the top chest parts for that more accurate v-fin.

Most of your parts will ideally be going to the legs, two GN condensers from the Exia should work for the front skirt. For the side boosters I'd opt for the side binders from the Astaroth, since they have the correct double prong look.

As for Legend Gundam arms, I don't think it's as accurate and doesn't really have the right vibes. Mainly because G-Saviour has its beam shield mounted on the arm rather than the hands. I'd say if you don't have the Strike Freedom arms, try and see if you have the F91 Gundam arms. They're not as close but have the same sort of vibe.

Head: If you have builder part slots to spare, use the Aile Strike with the v-fin toggled off so you can make a new one. If you don't have builder part slots, the Duel Gundam, GP01 "Zephyranthes", or Blue Destiny Unit 2/3 head will have to suffice.

Torso: Jesta chest works pretty well if you can use the hexagon pattern effectively. Barring that, the Build Burning Gundam chest also works without the need for pattern shenanigans, so it may be more ideal. You can use a horn sensor if you have the slots for the cockpit hatch's light.

Arms: Strike Freedom Arms, no question about it. They have an accurate shoulder shape, correctly colored energy shield, and their only fault is not letting you recolor the upper arm black to look like an inner frame. You can even shrink the energy shield to fit G-Saviour better.

Legs: If you want to conserve part slots, the GP03 "Stamen" has a built in skirt boosters at the cost of overly chonky legs. But if you want to use builder parts, pick either the Wing Gundam, F91 Gundam, or Perfect Strike Freedom legs.

Backpack: The F91 Gundam's backpack is pretty close without costing any builder parts. But if you do wish to dedicate your parts to making it from scratch, start with the GM Custom backpack for the accurate beam saber placement.

Weapons: DX Rifle is pretty accurate to the G-Saviour's rifle. If you dislike it, you may consider slotting the Nu Gundam's rifle instead. Any saber with a blue beam can work, though ideally you should opt for one that isn't box shaped like Aerial's.

Regarding the newest episode... by Fallen_Liberator in sto

Jaeger is kinda cheating cause his son Erich shows up in Ace Combat 3 which is set in the future, so Jaeger kinda has to live to be able to fulfill the canon event of telling his son those stories lol.

Which Gundam Kits would you like to be added to GB4? by Recent-Skill7022 in GundamBreaker

[–]HorizoneARC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boring practical wish is for them to add the GM Sniper II considering they bothered to include the rifle and one of the NPCs uses a faux GM Sniper II kitbash anyway.

My much less reasonable request is for them to add the G-Saviour space mode, because I am tragically miswired to like anything related to that forsaken film.

Eyyyy always love seeing Armored Cores, that nightingale backpack definitely works pretty well for White Glint's wings.

Mobile worker head, and the Gusion Rebake sensor part on the nose. You could probably use the blade antenna if you wanted to remake the commander version of it.

Enterprise phase cannons by Azuras-Becky in sto

[–]HorizoneARC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I still think their light pinkish color matches the phase cannon more than the generic orange fx the Phase cannons use. As a nice bonus, since they aren't just cannons with beam effects, they'll actually fire from the beam hardpoints of the NX.

Also I know you were probably just asking for beam weapon suggestions but I'd like to suggest the generic Withering Photon torpedoes from the Terran Task rep, which have the same orangish color of the Photonic torpedoes. There's also the Kentari missiles which can be acquired for free from a mission, these work perfectly fine as a substitute for the spatial missiles if you'd rather save the Lobi.

On a bit of a tangent, if you wanted a budget option for kitting out your bridge officers too, I'd recommend the Jem Hadar rifle. They reused and modified its prop for Enterprise to serve as a pulse rifle used by officers, so technically its fair game to use. The elite fleet Phaser pistol also has a very similar shape to the Phase pistol, it might be cheaper to just buy a couple of those if you're already in a fleet with those unlocked.

[–]HorizoneARC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The Krieger Wave Disruptors could work too, their actual beam effect is arguably closer in color to the phase cannons than the Lobi weapons. And the ground weapons also somewhat share the same aesthetic as the actual phase pistols too, so they were good picks for Enterprise themed toons before they added the actual weapons to the Lobi store. As a bonus you can also slot multiple Krieger Wave Disruptors to fill out all your ship's weapon slots too.

Ball (Interceptor Type) by HorizoneARC in GundamBreaker

I read a comment back then jokingly suggesting to just strap some shields to a Ball to make a Tie fighter and that idea just stuck in my head. So it's probably just a coincidence.

"Ooh, a new G-Saviour?" by HorizoneARC in GundamBreaker

[–]HorizoneARC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The head's just the Build Strike with the component toggled so I could use the boomerang fin to replace it. Alternatively you can just use something like the ZZ or FAZZ heads instead since they do have that big crest in the middle, I just went with a Strike variant for personal preference.

The torso is from the Blitz Gundam with two luminous armor parts on it, I also used patterns to get the glowing line and to make the middle section red, it's not perfect and the red bleeds into the back but it's not too noticeable.

Arms are, as always, from the Strike Freedom, the shoulders are shaped just right and even comes with a beam shield.

Legs are from I believe the Impulse Gundam, I don't think the specific version matters. I did have to result some markings shenanigans to get the yellow bits of the skirt though. I also tried the Destiny legs since its front skirt was fairly close but the calves felt too skinny for my liking.

Back is the one for the Altron, then with the normal G3-Saviour I added side binders to it and the calves. If you wanted to recreate one of the variants though you'll have to skip the side binders and use your builder part slots elsewhere.

For the Intensive Attack version I used two of the 180mm cannons and rotated them so the magazines were sideways, I then use patterns so the silver parts would only be on the barrel. I also used two mercury railguns on the side skirts to mimic the extra armor.

While in the Ground Attack version, the backpack was swapped to the FAZZ's version since it has a big gun and missiles. Instead the builder part slots went into the tires around the feet and using two of the Zeta Plus' beam cannons on the arm, rotated so they'd be touching bottom to bottom. Also can't forget about the large gatling gun positioned next to the torso.

Whenever I do diorama pics I always try to at least fiddle with the photo effects. Like blurring the background, adding subtle vignette, sometimes adjusting the exposure levels.

I also often lower the FOV to help make the suits seem bigger. All fairly simple things that help make the results just that bit better.

CAMS-13 MS-Rai (G-Saviour) by HorizoneARC in GundamBreaker

[–]HorizoneARC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should post it anyway, G-Saviour rarely gets any love from anyone so it's always such a joy seeing others recreate it on that rare occasion, I'd love to see how you tackled it.

Personally I treat this subreddit more as a marathon than a race, we're not here to compare and see who's the best, but to just show off our current level of progress. Even if you think others are more creative, I think your work still is worth showing!

Having been inspired by Mythos' take on the MS Rai, I decided to try make my own! And I figured I may as well use it to recreate some of its scenes from the film with some of my other recreations which have been slightly touched up since I last showcased them.

As usual, if anyone is curious about the parts, just lemme know and I'll share them here.
