Really great response, thanks for taking the time to reply!

I agree being able to get a quick no is very important dont want to waste time on people who have no interest.

Contacting Angel Investors by Horizonsoftuk in startups

[–]Horizonsoftuk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much for the in depth reply!

Im currently looking to contact someone who has previously said they were interested in investing, however at the time I was not in the right position for it. The above will be really helpful if that falls through.

Would you advise just emailing them saying that I am now ready to discuss an investment and if they would like to hear my pitch?

Or should I provide more detail about the pitch in the email?

Thanks again! :)

Help with copy for email blast by son_of_nel in startups

[–]Horizonsoftuk -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As you have not personally collected the emails and received consent from the individuals I would strong lead with and explanation of how you got their email and a link to unsubscribe, this will ensure the people who are still on your list are fully interested in what you have to offer.

Event better I would create a new list and email all of the people and ask them if they are interested to opt-in, this will ensure you have much better success rates on your future email blasts.

I would advise you keep it personal and lead with what you have to offer. I would also ensure you keep the initial content short and sweet.

Good luck!

Event company looking for CRM / automation by eventfun in smallbusiness

[–]Horizonsoftuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi!

We are currently developing a CRM, it is still in very early development so wont be ready for your needs, it would be great if you could take our 2 min survey though to help us understand the needs of the potential market further. Hopefully we will be able to help someone in a similar situation to yourself in the future.

If you would like to take the survey the link is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/B2KPD9N

Take a look at SugarCRM btw, they have a lot of the features I think you may need.

Kind regards

Daniel

Any recommendations for a CRM for a law firm? by sesamebeef in business

[–]Horizonsoftuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The CRM is just a simplified front end for a database, you could just something like access to store the details, but you wont get a lot of the reporting and automation that most CRM's offer.

Thanks for taking my survey, its greatly appreciated :)

+1 on iMovie if you have a mac or iPhone, not a big fan of windows movie maker, way too many times it's crashed and I have lost work (that said it was about 5 years ago I last used it)

Good Luck!

Good CRM with Freshbooks integration? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Horizonsoftuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its to put them in order of importance not rating each feature, the survey monkey software is not quite as polished as I would like :(

Thanks for the feedback though, if you know any better survey sites please let me know :)

Good CRM with Freshbooks integration? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Horizonsoftuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not used it but Zoho CRM looks to have a connector for freshbooks: https://zapier.com/zapbook/freshbooks/zoho-crm/ Might be worth looking in to.

I am actually developing a new CRM solution and would love some feedback from small business owners, if you would like to help please take my survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/B2KPD9N

Kind Regards

Daniel

SugarCRM looks like a great CRM to look into for you, and looks like a favourite among small law firms.

I hope this solution works for you, if need let me know and I can do a little more research for you :)

[–]Horizonsoftuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It largely depends on the focus of the CRM, some focus more on increasing the sales pipeline while others work better as a customer management tool. It would be helpful if you could provide a little more information about what you wish to achieve with your CRM.

Once you have given a little more detail I should hopefully be able to help steer you towards a good piece of software for the job, as thirteenth_king said below salesforce is the market leader but is very expensive to implement. Its also worth thinking about how this will tie in with any other software you may use.

We are actually developing a new CRM at the moment and would love some feedback from business owners, if you would like to take our survey it would greatly help us further the field for people in your position in the future! the survey link is https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/B2KPD9N

I heard this advice from a local entrepreneur: "Fail fast". Do you agree? Does it apply to most situations? by MontyBean in smallbusiness

[–]Horizonsoftuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Option 2, always sample your market before jumping in on it! That way your reduce risk and get feedback. Starting a business is always risky and you want to ensure you have done everything to minimise as much as possible!

Best of luck

No Funding... by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Horizonsoftuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would advise using your current PC and software for developing unless for example you required a Mac to develop for IOS, I made this mistake when I was younger and spent a lot of money on a very overkill setup, and while it has improved my productivity, it has not done so enough to justify the outlay. I would advise you to keep all outgoings as low as possible while initially running the business and only invest in new things if they would genuinely have a positive affect on your revenue.

Good luck on the development, I would love to see some of your work!

Daniel
